Just wondering, but why is it bad on heli's to have the braking turned on? My argument is that it can be better because if you manage to crash or tip over then the blades will have a force to slow down minimizing damage.

It's not REAL bad provideing you have and auto-rotation unit such as the KING. But if you use it on a Blade CP or CP2 with a solid shaft to maingear design, you are trying to stop alot of inertia quickly so you will probably strip teeth off the maingear or pinion or worse.
