His neighbors must love him. I can imagine them sitting out in their back porch enjoying the evening, when he screams by inverted, backwards, and doing about mach two.

I would imagine his neighbours are used to it.

And it demonstrates the fact that the heli can be flown in relatively small spaces.

i also forgot to mention that it does show just how much skill it takes to fly one of these, even in such a small space. and, that they're not toys.

great flying, with my luck i would have nailed every object before 2 minutes into the flight ()

Your right,it certainly shows how skillfull he is. Shame its paired with reckless abandon and a total disregard for the safety of other people or their property.
I dont want to sound like a killjoy here, but it doesnt matter how good you are, or how well setup and built your heli is, at some point it will go wrong. Either a dumb thumb, or a servo failure, or any number of small issues, and that heli, with rotor blade tips doing in excess of 200mph is going to hit someone/something.
Hopefully its only repair costs to a neighbours car or house, plus the hassle factor to them while the repairs are underway, but it could all to easily be worse. What about the cars going down the road. Distracted by the heli hutling towards them backward inverted at 3 foot off the ground in their rear view mirror, theres no way they would see someone step out in front of the car (who is also probably watching the heli.)
Great flying....Stupid pilot.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that

I personally think this is one of the coolest videos I have ever seen (of a r/c heli).

Please understand that Jason is a professional. The video was made to be entertaining, but for anyone who knows him personally he takes safety very, very seriously. The vehicles in the street were his own and friends. Those passing by were neighbors, who are always aware of him flying and often request it. The camera man was set up in a very safe and isolated location. There were and always are spotters, if you will notice the flight had to be stopped becuase a neighbor was walking down the street 4 houses down! Although there was no disclaimer, many precautions were taken pre-flight.

As for the flight itself...have any of you ever seen a JK flight??? This flight would have been no different if it were at a park, or a flying field. Jason has more control over a r/c helicopter than most of us can even imagine, almost to the point where he becomes one with the heli. Failures happen, we all know this, so what makes it different if it happens at the field or in the street?

As for a newbie attempting to mimic his flying skills or style even, you certainly can not hold him responsible for the actions of others. Anyone who is starting out in this hobby will quickly learn the amount of concentration and skill these manuevers require.

So....please enjoy the video for what it is.....entertainment and a beautiful display of many years of dedication to this hobby. And....Align is extremly proud to have him designing and flying the best selling r/c Helis in the world.

^^^^laughable my friend. good pilot or not a blade can break on any heli or a bolt fail. the difference is at the field there is very little chance of it hitting someone or something. much greater chance in the street.

not vans, but numerous r/c airplanes, or pilots running onto the field to retrieve them.

My point is although the surroundings are "different", and most pilots may not be capable of flying in such tight areas, his flight would have been the same at a flying field.

Neighbors are always treated with respect and informed prior to these types of flights, and there are many spotters to be aware of vehicles, pedestrians, little girls running outside. This type of a flight in his front yard is not an uncommon thing, most of his neighbors are no longer impressed.

I hate to come into this discussion.

HOWEVER. I have never seen such an incredible disregard for property, people and life.

A helicopter has a huge amount of energy regardless of size, and regardless of the pilot flying it.

Are you trying to say JK would be safe flying in the middle of a shopping mall? Its exactly the same.

What you have to understand that all heli flying is risky. We have to reduce our risks by controlling as much of the flying environment as possible. If anything were to happen in this situation i would tend to suggest this is pure and unadulterated negligence.

Have you ever seen the level and depth of Health and Safety laws?

JK is no longer on the pedesatl he was once on. Negligence like this is inexcusable.

Have we learned ANYTHING from the passing away of Ron Kyle?

Stu
