Hey Guys,

I'm still trying to figure this thing out (never flown off the ground yet). But just recently I notice an obundence of belt dust from the belt everywhere! Is this normal? It look like the belt is shredding somewhere. I've nvere taken the belt off, and haven't done too much with this thing. I do have a spare belt, if I need to replace it. Sorry for the stupid question, but my Mandarin is extreamly weak, so I can only get what broken English I get from the book and the pictures. Do I need to fix something here??? Can somebody give me a clue?

Many thanks,

JC

Quick head down to the local xxx video store and get some lube. It will be fine the belts are dry and really dust when new. Next time I change a belt Im gonna soak it before installing it. try a teflon or silicone spray pn it.

have you checked the belt is not sliding off one of the pulleys during flight???....also it seems lots of these come from the factory with the belt WAY too tight....did you get RTF???

yeah too tight is a problem also good call but fender youll know when the belt slips off it pulls down the motor and you start loosing the tail. Yep been there done that.

Ill say the belt was too tight and you've worn the teeth and its lost its grip just change it. I looked at all the bearing mods and stuff thinking I needed to change it but luckily I didnt. I bought 2 new belts changed it and haven't needed the second one yet probably about a 100 or more flights ago.

J C, I have been running the King 2 without the pulley's for six weeks now without a problem, just an occasional spray on the outside with silicone spray. Most people will resist that notion thinking it will shred the belt but I have found that not to be the case. When I first got the King, the belt would slip off the pulleys and then suddenly lose tension and spinning goes the tail. So then I tried putting large washers on the bottom side of the pulleys, seem to work alright. One day during a frame change, I took the pulleys off altogether, just to see what would happen and low and behold, not a problem since, there is nothing for the belt to slip off of.(CHINGLISH)

yeah DougsRC but were not all turnin 3000+rpm. There was a post way back that somebody was making a better belt direct fit for the king. Anyone heard of such a thing? I think the king belt fiber leaves a little to be desired. Not as good as the belt on my harley.

The belt on your Harley is BITCHIN !! No doubt. I don't know about a better belt but I don't see the need for it. I have 3 extra belts for the KING thinking I would need them but I have only change the belt one time since I had the KING. Running at over 3000 headspeed one would assume the belt would be subjected to even more abuse. I have gone thru way more maingears and spindles than belts, I am simply amazed !!!

It was on that subzzzzzero set up vids on you tube. He put a little piece of plastic and bonded it just under and back towards the tail of the pulleys but just below the belt. You have to see the pics or vid to see what i mean, i dont think i am explaining it right.
