| I hope someone here can help me - I appreciate any advice I can get.....
I have a new Century Hummingbird from Helihobby and have fit the following seperates:
Wattage IC5 ESC - Main Motor
Castle Creations Pixie 7P ESC - Tail Motor
GWS 4RP receiver
HS 55 servos
Helimax micro piezo gyro
JR XP652 Xmitter
I can set everything up without the gyro and everything works well, but as you may know, hovering a heli without a gyro is a real pain and pretty stressful.
Then I introduce the gyro and everythign goes bad. It is difficult to get the Pixie to initialize. I usually have to be touching the heli to get it to init. and when I let go, the ESC will drop out. I have adjusted the center and gain to the point where I think I am about to wear down the screwdriver. I can sometimes get it to init when I point my tranny antenna at the heli, only to have it drop out again.
I am only using the signal wire from the ESC to the gyro as adding even the negative will not allow me to ever get it to init. I plugged a servo into the gyro and it functions fine with a servo. I used the servo to properly set the center also but still hit and miss with the pixie7
I also swapped the speed controls around and it didn't help. I then switched to a different ESC for the main and no help. I also added a 220uF cap to the power wires in hopes that there was some pulsing going on - did not help.
Is my gyro simply not compatable with this setup or what? I can get a JR G410 locally or a CMS 200 through mail order. Do you think a different gyro would help?
Thanks a bunch guys. I know we can get this licked!
