On mine, I removed some of the covering (from the end of blade out and around the hole.) Then I soaked both sides in super thin CA. I have about 6 flights on them since. I have the 9g canopy on mine, and still have to add a little weight to get the CG correct.

I left all of the plastic on and just dipped the last 1/2 inch of the root of the blade into thin CA for about 10 seconds. I then let it dry and re-drilled the hole to get the excess CA out of it. Then, I CA glued the blade washers directly to the root.

micro heli cnc tail

just noticed a few nice things about the microheli cnc tail for the hurricane 200:
weight is almost exacltly same as stock.
no ball links on blade grips just bearings so they cant pop off accidently! nice!

I recently got some dampers for my 200 from Readyheli, they are EXACTLY the same rubbers as the canopy grommets. I couldn't believe it, same things. so, if you have a spare cano laying round and you need to fly it, canabilize!

I don't know if they fit, I haven't replaced mine yet. Just ordered them as spares, but 'No' they are NOT o-rings, just the same as the canopy grommets.

Those canopy grommets are just that. THey sell them as dampers, but they are not for the head. The head dampers are o-rings and they are included in the spindle shaft pack, part #203849. I also ordered the dampers you did thinking they were the dampers - but in fact they are the canopy grommets - as luck would have it I needed one of those shortly after anyway Long story short, the actual spindle dampers are in part #203849

AUW

so i finished building my second Hurricane 200.
this one has the carbon tail and micro heli cnc tail box.
i weighed my other Hurricane and it weighted 198 grams sans canopy.
this second one weighs 196 grams. i think the 2 gram savings is in the tail too which is good. i worked on a better Cg to by putting my telebee gyro up forward of the main shaft on the bottom deck along with the spektrum reciever on the front part of the buttom deck also.
i'll show some pics when it's rtf.
~john

Oh yeah it weighed 197grams sans canopy.

Jim,

Great Stuff! I stand corrected. Thanks for the info, I guess I did what you did and ordered the wrong part. I will definately add that p/n to my spare parts list. Gota get me some of those C/F landing gear sets as well .... John

Looks better than before it went down.

Big Thanks!!! to Wayne over at Hobby Hut in Trooper, Pa. They had all the parts I needed. They ordered my canopy special order and had it to me in 2 days. Nice!!!

C.F. skids

jim,
thanks, all the C.F. parts on this little heli do look sweet.
glad you got everthing back togather again!
lets see some new pcis!
what lipos are you running in the hurricane?
7.4v or 11.1v?
the 11.1v made my mini zoom run hot! the CC 10A esc started to smell a little and flight time wasn't very good. very high rotor speed though.
just initially hovering my Hurricane with 7.4v 850Mah seemed to run cool in temps.
all was happy.
the lipos i was running in the MZ were 11.1v 730Mah TP lite's and they were pretty warm. but they weigh the same as the xtreme 7.4v 850Mah lipos.
which is best for the hurricane?

CNC TAILBOOM SUPPORT

Heads up on the optional CNC tail boom support. i'ts a very good idea. seems to make the tail stiffer too. i did this along with the c.f. tail boom. it's worth doing!!

I like the CNC tail support idea, but I am already too tail heavy. I have my packs as far fwd as they can go and still have to trim it fwd. I don't want to have to add weight, I have to figure something out.

I liked the other canopy better on the hurricane. I think it looked better, and the added weight helped with the c/g. Plus, the paint job came out better. Too bad its mangled, guess I will pic up another one on my next order.
