Damn Man, good catch. Guess I got click happy and didn't see that they are for the EP100 (150mm). I emailed them to drop them off my order.

Ouch Rick on your damage cost It's basically the cost of buying a new Trex600N, are you gonna just buy a 600N kit and just use the frame and the other stuff as backup? I think I would go that route if it cost $400 on your damages.

Thanks for the post of the link where you're ordering parts (because I might get a Hurricane 200 ^^), I think I'll use this place as another location for ordering parts if they have good services of course Man, the snow is really coming down on me today and don't think I can go flying for a couple days because all snow this week.

Got them pictures of your crash?

pitch settings

hey rick thanks for the info my swash mix is up to 68% which seems high i have +/-12 degrees pitch. got it hovering but it has bad tail vibrations. worked on that a while then lost a balde at the root and she whent down hard. lots of damage.....bummer it's so new.
i did order a 200 kit. and another 200 frame and will be transfering everthing left from the 100 prov2 to the 200 frame.
what'sa your swash mix % on your 200H ?
thanks for the help.
lucky i wasn't hit by the blade!! this thing can cause lot's of damage!!! not for inside use for sure.
i'm going to leavfe that to my walkera 4#3 heli.

EP200

Hi all,

Great thread, thanks.

I receive my EP200 just before Christmas ;-)
I love this small bird. A great tiny 3D heli !

My setup is
- Stock motor and ESC
- Gaui 2S 800 lipo pack
- 3 * BMS servos
- Futaba R606FS 2.4ghz receiver
- NT400 gyro (works well, not a 401, but it's works)
- Stock blades and always the flybar weight (i try without asap...)
- Optional light canopy ( "a must have" for 3D, i think, original one is nice but heavy !)
- AWG : 255g

Pitch setting to keept good rotor rpm at full pitch, i use the manual indication (pitch mid stick -> 7mm between swash and top frames)
Pitch AFR : 35%, pitch curve idlup : -max / 0 / +max and +100/75/65/75/+100 works very well for me.
Ail and Ele AFR : 60%

Do you know other lipo pack with good discharge rate and perfect fit into the EP200 ? and if fiber main blade exist for this heli ? (I'm new in the GAUI world ;-))

Thanks !

Looks good!

I have not yet found any CF or fibregalss blades for this heli, but given that they made them fro the EP100, I hope that someone will come out with some soon.

I think I'll have to get one of those lighter canopies...

I just picked up a different battery SMC 2S 800. It is designed to fit into a CX. (seems like batteries shaped to fit into the CX work well, The TP730 is difficult to get in with lightweight canopy)
The SMC is rated for 22C. that's the best I have seen so far (but I am not sure what the GAUI 800 2S is rated at)

Hey thats great John!

I saw those tailbox's, they're sweet, I would only worry that it would make the already tailheavy bird, even more tail heavy. But man, it looks nice.

Well I got my parts on the way from RH, they have the best C/S for an online store that I have personally came across. My last order from them I picked up a bunch of spares. Tonite I installed a new tailboom, belt, mainshaft, grip screws, and flybar. I also took the flybar weights off, well see how that flys. I am still waiting on the landing gear and canopy, but that didn't stop me from a quick hover in the kitchen tonite. The landing gear is still on the heli, both struts are there, just one skid tube broke off, so even though it was leaning to the left abit, it still got in a hover. I paid more attention during the rebuild to getting a level swash at 0 pitch, level flybar paddles at 0 pitch, and 0 pitch in the mainblades at midstick. I lifted off (with the plastic stock blades) and they were perfectly in track! I did order another set of (woodblades from RH) but, I am extremely hesitant to fly them. I guess I will try the C/A'd blade roots, and let them cure for a good amount of time before flying them. I just cannot understand how woodblades, with no plastic in or around the blade root, can withstand such high headspeeds??? Can't wait for somone to comeout with some Carbon Fiber blades!

BTW, my hurricane was about $25 to get flying. My 600N is up around $430 total! Ouch.

pinion on hurricane

Rick,
sucks about the crashes. looked nasty. hope you get those sweet heli's up flying again soon.
well i guess i'm experiencing some more bad luck. the pinion on my new motor wasn't glued tight. it was loose on the shaft. what do you think Gaui uses to glue the pinion to the shaft? i am trying locktite RED. think that will work?
i'm getting much better results on the pitch front with this one.
+13 derees and -12 degrees. are the plastic baldes flyable. i can't do any 3D so will they be o.k.?

new bird up and flying

Rick,
i got the little baby flying tonight. it's much more stable in a hover than the minizoompv2. i just hovered it in my living room briefly to see if my settings were good. pretty cool little heli.
the rear tail fin vibrades i tiny bit so i think everything is good.
hopefully the weather will be good here soon and not much wind!

finished photo

got it all finished here is a photo or two of my Hurricane 200.
it's maiden flight was with a Xtreme 7.4v 850MaH 20c lipo.
i was flying the minizoom with a 11.4v 730MaH tp lipo and the esc and lipo got hot! this combo was all normal temps in the GH200.
rick what lipo's do you run?
now i need to paint the canopy.

Good job John!

I'm liking the C/F landing gear! Make sure your blades are not too tight in the grips, that might cause a vibe as shown in your fins!

I'm running the stock Gaui 7.4v 800 lipo packs, not sure what 'C' rating they are. I'm half temped to run a 3S 730 just to see how she does!

I just bought the 9G light canopy, going to see how the C/G plays out, with the 25G fiberglass cano (w/ paint) and I was still slightly tail heavy. Had the lipo moved fwd enough that there really wasn't that much room to move fwd.

She's back together again!

I ended up going with a 9G canopy so it looks like Powerbooks above! The only thing I did differently this time was to use some spare Trex 450SA plastic canopy posts. I cut them down to fit, redrilled the screw hole and mounted them. They work perfectly, no more tiny screws on and off everytime I want to change the packs.

I went with the woodies again because no-one makes c/f blades. But, I have a question regarding them.

Last time I never glued the roots and this led to them departing the aircraft in a hurry!

How are you guys glueing the blade roots to strengthen them? Are you cutting the plastic shrinkwrap back and just dropping some c/a on them? Or, are you just dropping some c/a in the hole?

thanks!
