The newly arrived reapir parts are on.

NOW, since the stock brushed motor burned up, I put on that nice purply esky ek5-0005 3900rpm/v motor with the 25A esc.

1) when mounting the motor how tight do you want to get it with the main gear?

2) How tight should the belt be for the tail?

Ok, I also picked up the Futaba6Ex 2.4 ghz tx and rx.

1) There is a switch provided and a spot on the Rx for it to plug into, coming off the switch is a red plug (which i know goes into the rx in the battery plug in), then there is a black plug in for the wall charger to connect to. BUT there is also another black plug.
what is that for? Doesnt the plug coming from the ESC provide power for the rx?

ALso, CG...

1) I read in a previous post that lifting from the flybar is a close approximation for the CG. Is that correct?

Thank you for your help, all who reply.

Triple B, Very exciting, The motor gearlash is kinda a thing you kinda "feel" overtime, But there should be several molecules of space between the pinion and the maingear, if it's too loose you will damage the maingear, if it's too tight you will also damage the maingear and rob yourself of flight time as the motor struggles to overcome the friction. Same with the belt, too tight you will rob the system of power that could be supplied to the maingear. I use silicone spray to ease the friction on the belt. Tryan could certainly help you with the TX along with others.

Oh Yea Burly, The CG. If you hold the flybar with your fingers it should be level. If the battery is all the way in the cage pocket you will probably be tail heavy, it will still fly but it will want to back up on you . You could use some Velcro and place your battery half-way in the slot for better CG. Don't worry BBB, you will get more replies, some are taking naps or spending Quality time with family, We can't be online 24/7 GEEZ Triple B!

Heyyyyy

A good tip is to use a dollar bill or piece of paper between the gears as you mesh them when you pull the paper out you are good to go. For belt tension Try to get a spin down time of 10 to 15 seconds less than that your to tight and longer may be to loose and trow the belt. you should be able to turn the tail rotor by hand with out it slipping. Oh and lube all bearings with triflow makes a big difference

A dollar bill is a little thick for doing that, something more along the line of tracing paper or an easy wider is better for the job....

all that radio switches and plugs are for your nitro heli or Plane or some BIG Burly Bastard.(oops) Setit aside plug your esc into it youll be fine. that harness you refer to is for charging your reciever pack which you don't have because of BEC And we turn off our reciever by unplugging the lipo. You knew what you were doing But it doesnt hurt to ask. And gear mesh I hold onto the outrunner and turn the rotor if I can barely feel a little play its good. I double checked its the same gap as a dollar bill.

Youg going to need power from your battery to the switch.. From your switch to the RX and the other lead is your charger jack..I would throw the switch in the spare parts bin and hook up everything like you normally would.. with no switch...

ok, so i think i got it...

Pitch the switch, plug everything back in to the new reciever like the old rx, and plugging and unplugging the lipo IS my switch.

Cool, thought so, but now i feel much better about it.

thanks all
