Greetings, I received my HBK2 and trying to set it up properly for flying. It is a totally stock RTF.

Here are some things I noticed/adjusted on it and some questions.

1. The main rotor would not turn very easy. Adjusted the belt as per RC/Groups diagram. It was way to tight.

2. Main rotor was still tight and notchy. Removed the motor and turning the pinion I noticed it is normally notchy like a stepper motor. I assume that is just the way stock motors are. I adjusted it using the paper method between the pinion and main gear.

3. The center of gavity seems tail heavy with everything installed except the canopy. Moved the battery as far forward as I dared. It is close but using the side tilting method it is hard tell, especially with that notchy motor.

4. How do you mount the battery? Velcro? Rubber bands?

5. Where do you run the stock antenae? Any pictures?

5. I had to bend the red motor lead as the canopy hit it.

6. The gyro has a zip tie holding it on. How do you guys secure it?

It would be nice to find a HOW-TO web site like the one for the raptor's (www.raptortechnique.com) especially for idiots like me.

Out. Thanks

I forgot one more thing.

7. Do I need to tighten the tail rotors? They are totally loose in the grips.

Out. Cheers!

Is that a uestion? Sound like you did right.

At least you know how to remove it for the inevitable replacement soon...

Use the "lifting by the flybar" technique. Takes notchy motors out of the equation. you may have to rig up a battery tray extender. Got any popsicle sticks?

I've used both. Whatever works.

I'll see if i can find the pic of the way mine was (and will be) routed and post it. Right now the Kiz-ing is dismantled awaiting parts.

As long as you didn't break it or compromise the solder connection, it should be OK.

I use gyro tape and hopeful thinking.

They should move fairly easily in the holders, but not flop around.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

Good stuff Shizack! The stock main motor won't last too long anyway. ESKY had to save monies some how to keep afloat , brushless is the way to go on the king or any other heli, you might get 20 or so flights out of the stock motor. It will hold you over till the brushless arrives and make sure the gear mesh is not loose or not too tight, too tight will rob you of power and flight time, too lose will damage your main gear.
My friend has the stock king and uses velcro on the battery and the battery pocket and keeps the battery half way out of the battery cage for a good CG. If the battery is all the way in the pocket, the KING will still fly but it will be a little tail heavy and will want to back up on you.
