Can you fit 10s a123 with no problem in the frame or do you have to split it up?

You have to arrange the cells shotgun style and put six cells on the bottom and four on top. If you try and put the brick directly in, when you adjust for CG, the pack will be VERY close to the pinion With the six on bottom, you can put the extra two cells toward the read and have plenty of room to adjust for CG....Ron

Thanks guys. I will have 6 cells on the bottom (3 side by side) with the cells end to end shotgun style and the remaining 4 cells end to end shotgun style on top.

The cells need to be arranged two rows of three end to end and two rows of two on top.....Ron

Packs have arrived. pics in my gallery.

Just wondering about A123 packs and using a BEC. As the dreaded drop off approaches so quickly if you mistime your flight is there a chance of the receiver going into failsafe or loosing servos before you get the heli down? I run a separate receiver pack on my A123 powered Joker2 and avoided this route to save weight on the Logo so was just curious about this. Whatever chance I have at my crap autos loss of receiver doesn't bare thinking about Although the outcome might look very similar with me at the controls

You have to remember that even if the A123 or aany main battery that size does not have enough to make the heli fly, it will have plenty of voltage/amperage to run the electronics....Ron

I thought so. Thanks for confirming it. I had often put the full 4600mAh back into my Joker packs so just needed to check.

I run A123's in all my helis (currently two stretched mini jokers w/ 710mm blades and my L5003d) with Koolflight HV BEC's and never have any problems. Like Ron said there is still 29-30volts left in the packs even after draining them down to nothing.

No worries.

Curious how long a one of the Tanic packs for the 500 will run for in a hover? Light load? Never used A123's but giving it a serious thought now. 2300mah seems pretty minimal.

Thats why you run a high voltage 10s setup with the A123's (volts x amps = watts)

Its very easy and cheaper to buy the packs on ebay and make them yourself.

I am hoping for a little over 5minute flights. Anyone seen any vids of the Logo 500 on A123? - I would love to see the performance.

Hi Logo 500 owners, I am going to get a Logo 500 and thinking to run it with 10s a123 batteries. Could you please show me how to solder those a123 together? I have been reading some posts and it seems like there are two ways to do it.

1. http://www.modelelectronicscorp.com...duct.php?pid=29
(Solderless Power Tubes - 10s pack without small wires)

2. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ht=dewalt+build
(10s pack with many small wires)

What's the difference between method 1 vs. 2? If I solder the pack by myself, can I skip the small wires portion? Can you show me how to fit those 10s a123 in the Logo 500 frame?

Here's the configuration I am thinking

Motor: Hacker A40 10L Electric Turbine - 8 pole
esc: Jazz 55 - 10 - 32
cyclic servos: Futaba 9650
tail: any suggestion?

If I am going to run 10s a123, what's the fly time I should expect from this setting? My flying style is moderate to 3D

Thanks!
