If you buy the purple stuff where do you get spindles. I assume if you buy the copterx head you should be able to buy an align spindle. Will an align spindle work with purple stuff. I'm about ready to buy some purple stuff just looking to see if replacements are easily available.

Or should I just get the copterx as the flybar is below the blades for when I do an inverted blade slap.

Tryan

You are now the undisbuted King for using the phrase "Purple Stuff" the most times in a single post.

Hey Tryan

The Align spindle will not work with the Purple stuff. Helidirect and bp hobbies sell the correct spindle (47mm) but are always out of stock. Some of the overseas vendors always have them but I like to keep my orders home. The problem comes when you put on the CNC grips They are what use the longer spindle. The price we pay for Purple

Thanks that was what I was afraid of with purple stuff. Once you put on purple stuff Can you get parts for purple stuff. I noticed the spindles always being sold out is why I asked the question about purple stuff.

It might be worth it to mail Jim @ Jag to see if he'd be willing to start stocking these. He's already stocking the rest of the purple stuff.

If you happen to get copterX or TREX clone CNC head the TREX XL spindles work perfectly, they are exactly 40 mm long and use the lil allen heads like the Ecrap spindle. They are 4 in a pack for like $3.50. One thing I can say about Align is they try not to Rape peoples on replacement parts and the parts are everywhere( I still ain't gittin one, a T-RIX dat is)

It's funny, I never thought I'd see the day that I would be so excited about getting PURPLE parts for my heli. Funny how life is.

If you got it from jag for $20 its a great start to going full metal but stand alone I would say no. My flying skills can not tell the difference in precision I started going metal to solve a tracking problem. Washout was next. But I found it was the cheap woodies and the speed I was turning them that caused the tracking problem. Not to mention if you lay your blades flat on a table you'll find they are warped. So they will never track at all pitches or all speeds. I am looking for a good set of CF blades to put on the plastic head I must have white. I am a rotor starer at hover.

Im with you jwhitacre one piece at a time but after the swash, except for the washout you end up buying the rest of the head as it is really one assembly from there.

My wife hates it when she catches me staring at rotors.
