Well, I started the sage of the HDX300 as a way of exchanging information, sharing misfortunes, and solving problems. 11,000+ reads with 300+ posts! Who would have thought?

I wonder how many of these little helis we have flying now. I hope I'm not the only one! I replaced my tail rotor shaft this evening and had a great flight. Sort of got me to thinking, and I'd like to offer the following thoughts.

First and foremost, is that if I wasn't so stubburn and determined to solve the problems, I would have walked away from this heli ages (and many $$$) ago. I have sort of a V2 version with some V3 factory bits and some others of my own making. The documentation is almost non-existent. Parts durability has been poor. Now, many of these issues may have been addressed in the V3. But I've invested so much time and money in the V2 that there is no way I'm going to purchase a V3.

When all is right, this is a fine flying little heli. As I was playing around this evening, hopping from the floor to the kitchen table, then onto the stove top, then down the hall to the sun room to land on the hot tub cover, I was enjoying some nice, stable, solid and predictable flight performance. But through all of it, in the back of my head I'm thinking that I'm just one cracked ball-link away from one heck of a fur-ball. Oh well, I still had fun.

For all that have been enjoying the read of the "saga", thanks for your continued support. And for all who have posted, well, it wouldn't be the same without you.
