Does anybody use JR7703D Gyro on lepton?

How is it compare to Fut401?

Thanks

I am using a 770 with a 3400G so far with good results. I am using 75-80% DR on rudder and 68mm HDX carbon tail blades, std length boom/belt. It has had some reasonable 3D workouts, so far tail holding. I also have a new 13 tooth metal tail gear, (HDX 500 upgrade part) which we will be trying out soon which will increase tail rpm. The Lepton locating pin needs shortening and a slight file to accomodate the new gear,

Cheers Kev

Tried the new gear and it does not fit the Lepton as I was lead to believe. The width is too wide for the lepton tail gearbox, so it's a no go. I guess it is back to waiting for Hirobo to do something about it, dam!,

Is there anyway to file, grind or sand the new 13t metal tail gear to make it fit in the Lepton tailbox?

dialtone,

the gear has excess on the opposite side to the locating pin, but this is used to centralise the gear on the belt and through the boom. I don't think you could balance what you need to remove from either side. I will try and post a photo soon,

Thanks so very much

Thanks Kev, you just saved me a little money and alot of heartache.
Hopefully Hirobo will give us a faster tail gear in the near future.

Thanks again

Mr. Kev sir, How's the setup on the 770? I don't see much reviews on it only heard that it's a tad more on setup compared to the 401.

How long or how many test flights did you have to make to dial the tail in just the way you want it?

The 770 is no more difficult to set up than a 401, the main difference is how powerful/ sensitve the tail is. The two things that are the main differences are the gain settings - 14 in normal and 12 in stunt, anymore over gains it. The second difference is the need to set rudder D/R of 70% initially and then increase it to suit your flying style. I personally found the tail at 100% very fast and visious. These are my current settings, yours will no doubt be different, but at,least its a starting point,

TMoore,
I am interested in your ideas, i would like to get it to fit, I think it will totally change the feel of the heli, But I think I'd need a jewellers skills to do,

Thanks Kev, I think I'll try the 770 with a JR 3400G.

I can make that fit too, but I would want my lathe, which is stored away for a few more months until the house is completed......

It's easy to fix. It might take an hour, max.

Tell me where to buy it and I'll see what it will take. I'll do one for my Lepton.
