BTW, the new QWW Nitro line (50/70/90) is on its way, so I want to get them when they are ready and fly them too. So it may be a boring thread for the Dominator. But I love it, and will do it anyway! Hey, maybe they will like my Vertical Fin design and use it on the new machines? You can only dream!

I am still going to use the dominator this year for almost all of the FF stuff and events, along with my other birds, and will post EVERYTHING here for you.

Tomorrow, first post of the build review.

That's great JA. I'm glad that you seem to have more exposure to FF's and such. I just don't have the time right now to be able to be "out there" so to speak. I have always thought that the helis were great for "my type" of flying. I have found that once they are set up properly and with any type of normal pm that you can have a reliable performer, especially in the FAI forum of flight. The new birds are being geared for the 3d pilots out there. Hopefully you will have the chance to show what the new designs will be capable of.

Ammending the above post: I will NOT be using the QWW Dominator for the upcoming season.

nice quality. did you run into any problems during the build? problems during flight? vibration, stress cracks, etc? you have the carbon fiber frame so i doubt you'll have any issues with cracks.

We have pushrods in 2.3 and 2.6mm and the carbon sets. The carbon are not bending. The links are made from delrin. Very high quality material.

Look forward to reading the rest of the thread. You should come by the shop. The 50 is 95% ready and the 70/90 not to far behind since they use a similar design just different motor mount, bell, pinion, and tail boom diameter and length. We are hoping the 70 will weigh around 9 lbs not much over. So the 90 would only weigh a little more due to motor weight. We will have to see once the machine is built up and on a scale though. The power would be unreal if we had a 70 weighing 9lbs. Wouldn't need a 90. We would get good gas milage and the motor wouldn't cost that much either. I think 90 sized motors are over priced.

And since they are similar designs, you can put a 70 in the 50 as a big block option for crazy power or if you live at high altitude. Or if you just want to upgrade to a large bird down the road. To convert the machine you would only need new lower frames, motor mount, clutch stack, clutch bell, boom clamp, and boom and belt or TT. The 50 uses a 21mm boom and 70/90 a 24mm boom.
