e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > A couple more newbee questions

OK, so this might seem like a rediculous question, but I'm going to ask it anyway: How do you get to the E-Sky Forum from the home page?? I stumbled upon in directly from a Google search - and fortunately bookmarked it. But just out of curiosity, can someone show me the path?

Next question: Has anyone used the $20 E-Sky simulator? It must be seriously lacking when compared with the other sims that cost hundreds of $$, but I'm wondering if it's another great E-Sky bargain, or just a big piece of junk.

Thanks again.

that should get you to the home page, otherwise if you go to
runryder.com scroll down until you see get to the electric stuff and then look for esky, lama, honey bee. and there you go.

as for that sim, yes it is pretty lame, you should be able to go inverted way too easily. Everyone seems torn between Pheonix, which I have not tried, and Real Flights G3.5 or G4. I think Pheonix is aroun 150 and the real flight is about 180.

I got RF G4, it is definately a lot more realistic as far as graphics, but also Physics. It come with a Futaba look alike Tx. You might want to check up on your computers video card before you purchase either one. SOmething like a 3d accelerator card with at least 32mb. Recomended is 256mb.

Hope that helps.

About 3/4 of the way down on the main page, along the right-hand side, there's a heading that says, "eRunRyder - Electric Heli Galleries". The 9th listing down is "e-E-Sky Honey Bee, Lama, Belt CP, E-Smart". That brings you to this forum.

The Esky simulator is the free FMS sim bundled with a USB controller that's pretty much identical to the stock Esky real one. The sim is a bit wanting, but the controller, from all I've read, is actually pretty good. It will work with Clearview and a few other sims, too. Plus, you're not killing your batteries while "simming".

FWIW, if anyone has Clearview, I've made a few models for it, including white and yellow Kings. I can link them if anybody wants them.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

Wow. I am retarded. I just didn't scroll down far enough. Thanks.

One more question... I cannot find any local hobby shops that deal in E-Sky stuff. Could anyone tell me what blades are compatible with the Belt-CP?

One dealer near me sells the Blade family of helicopters. Are those blades compatible?

I guess what I need to know is, if the blade length is the same, is it going to fit? Does the blade length have to be exactly the same? If shorter, I'd get less lift, and if longer, I'd have less "power" and potentially have clearance issues. Is there an acceptable range?

Thanks again!!

You can use TRex 450 blades - may have to use shims to get a proper fit. Just verify the length first.

Blades - I ordered 10 sets with my kit... Won't be grounded for lack of replacements!

Tony2, I myself have the ESKY flight simulator and it is all I use, I really like the simplicity of it. I only use one chopper on there called the Three DEE which in my opinion closely resembles the HB King. The graphics are rather primative but it is easy on your computer. My whole philosophy on sims is not nessasarily realism as much as it simply TRAINS YOUR BRAIN for new orientations and suprises, thats it!!!

take it easy

If you take it easy you wont need all those blades. If you can find an experienced pilot to help you with your set up, that would be best. I remember my mentor helped me with my setup. Thats most of the battle for a new guy. I did have to put in the time on the sim and just hovering. I personally feel that you should be extremely comfortable with all orientations of the hover before you move on to ff. If you cant hover nose in its going to be that much more difficult when you put yourself in that situation during ff. Best advice i can give is practice practice practice. Never give up.

toolman18 I'm going to argue with you a bit. Just on nosein I wasted a set of blades trying a nosein takeoff cause I am not good at nose in hovering . So I moved on to FF If you do figure 8's at a good altitude you can stop the heli at midpoint do a little nosein and if you get lost just nose forward and come around. I'm still doing this I can hold a nose in hover up high but saving blades in the hardest orientation to learn. Although I have learned all others first before moving on to FF.

Just my experience though, I'm actually using altitude as my friend to practice nose in

Good point

Good point. figure eights do make it easir because you are still moving forward. I know some people who didnt do a whole lot of nose in but fly just fine. They just dont stay nose in very long.

exactly Just cause I can fly now doesn't mean I can stop learning nosein. The key is not to get tied up with ff until you get nosein down. Now lets see if I live up to my own standards.
