Hi all,

Just about finished my Eagle 3 and not sure if I should keep it simple and just use 3 pitch curves one for Hovering, one for stunts and one for auto's or use a couple of different ones for the stunts eg. one for loops and say slightly different one for rolls.

On my EX-II I have norm, idle 1, 2, 3 and a Hold but to be honest I do seem to just use 3 for stunts.

What do you use ?

I prefer the idea of just 3 curves, less to think about

Simon.

I have:

Normal for hovering without ATG
Idle1 for hovering with ATG
Idle2 for stunts
Hold for autos

I would just keep it simple for now....

I use only 1 stunt mode.

Some people use several if they cannot get perfect manouvers on the 1 flight mode, but I think that this is just confusing!!

Hmmm............I've never had a model with mixers, pitch and throttle curves fully optimized for good axial rolls that would also do others maneuvers as well. I have markedly different cyclic and rudder rates for rolls versus anything else too. I could get along well with just two for the aeros plus hold of and hover, but I use a few more to really tweak a couple of other maneuvers.

Steve

Are you using +/-10 (ish) with 0 at centre stick ?

Or...are you using, for example -6 to +10 with centre stick being at the mid pitch range, in this example +2 ?

Just curious

I use as much pitch as the model will pull in FFF.... on my model about 8.5-9 degs. I then use about -6 for most stuff and 2-3 degs centre stick.

Conditions

I use 5 idle ups, normal, and hold. Like Ben, I have a dedicated condition for the roll reversal as I was never able to get the model to roll accurately without a special mix. I also have a special condition for the Cobra roll with flip and the Pushover and Pullover which has a very high elevator rate but with a lot of expo. I also run a special condition to set up for my auto, in trim for forward flight but only 1700 rpm vs the 2000 I normally run. I could get away with three idle ups but since I have 6 available, I use as many as I think I need.
