Kyosho Caliber 30 & 60 - Concept - Nexus > The old girl flies again

Just thought I would post a few picks for the guys on here that helped me w/ this old girl . This is the heli that got it all started for me 12 yrs ago. It was kinda cold and sloppy out yesterday , but bearable . So I loaded up the car and to the field I went . Did I mention , this is a Concept 30 SRT , w/ a DX canopy . I did'nt much care for the SRT Bob Hope nosed canopy , so I scratched up a kidney bean DX . My father and I did a Align tail swap also , and it has Align landing gear on board . Now to find a TT kit or i'll make a conversion for it . For now i'm just happy to see the old girl flying through the air . This heli and myself have had a long hard history together . Now my father is the proud owner of it .

Just curious (I have a concept), is the Align tail you used the one with the torque tube upgrade?

Any chance you could take a couple close up photos of your Align parts on your SR-T. Thanks. -Steve

Gotta love the oldies. Great to see im not the only one out flying the oldies above the snow. I havent had my DX outside since 1999 but, last week i too loaded up the car. Love the sound of the old gyro.
I did find the gloves make it harder to controll.

I may have a date with an older girl

She may be moving in with me. What do you think?
I don't look to fly 3d at this point, maybee just some scale down the road. After I learn more.

Thank you.

she was beaten out by a younger lady( hawk pro), per the advice of my instructor. not good for first heli he says. She is F/S on rcuniverse.com in the heli classifieds. Not by me.

No insult to your instructor but a Concept is a good first heli in my book ....now that the 401 gyro was invented

The Concept was a great first Heli. I Had a Concept 30DX, SR, Nexus 30 and I still fly my Concept 46VR. Glade to see your old girl back in the air. Hope your dad has fun.

Hey krashedagain,

Nice pics! It nice to see Concepts flying once again. Someday, sigh, I'll get mine in the air again. Thanks for the tip about the Align tail. I might have to do that.

Nice video The Old Guy! Brings back memories. It's kinda wierd seeing another Concept scoot around. I never flew with others back then. That distinctive sound of a Concept..............

I did my first auto with a Concept 30 (motor sputtered out). My hand were shaking like crazy.

Was that a DX?
