e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Honey Bee King 2 belt tracking problem

I crashed my honey bee king 2 over two months ago and have been waiting for new blades (backorder) since then. However, I decided to fire it up and make some adjustments to get it ready for flight again. That is when I noticed that the belt, as it returns to the main gear in the canopy from the tail, it comes off its track.

Has anyone else had this problem and how have they corrected it?

The belt comes out of the tail boom and goes behind a tensioner before making its way around the main sprocket, but it always rides off of the tensioner. I could understand it doing this if the tensioner was bent, but it appears to be very straight.

You know, as I'm typing this, it just occured to me that perhaps just rotating the tail assembly just a little bit on the tail shaft may change the alignment of the belt enough to correct the belt travel enough to fix this.

I'm going to try this, but in the mean time, I would appreciate it if anyone else could let me know if and how they dealt with this issue.

I hope your talking about your heli?

But a good belt is the key if its slipping throw it away and put on a new one for goodness sake its only a rubber band but definitely better than a motor tail.

Flip the pulley and the problem goes away.

Alternatively, you could get the Xtreme 43t tail rotor belt pulley assembly upgrade from Miracle Mart (www.miracle-mart.com). The upgrade includes a new washer on the idlers to replace the stock ones, and they pretty much take care of the jumping belt problem.

Aside from that, the pulley upgrade also takes care of the King 2's weak tail rotor authority. Because the pulley is larger, the tail rotor now rotates faster and becomes more effective.

Prior to the upgrade, I could never get the tail to hold on throttle punchups. The heli rotated almost 90 degrees every time I did that, even with a Futaba gyro-and-servo combination. Now I can pump the throttle all day and the tail's locked solid.

Bearings

Hi the other thing you could do is purchase these replace the washer at the top flange side up. These are the bearings that come with the Xtreme pulley kit which makes the over all bearing surface the belt rides on longer.
