Can you use a CSM system on a mechanical CCPM as the raptor
90SE. Or do you have to convert to eCCPM Like Vmax conversion?
Or would just the 2 gyros on elev and ail do for a flybarless on mechanical CCPM?

2x CSM720's are all that is needed on a mechanical CCPM heli such as the R90SE.

Why not?

Go for it. Try it in rate mode first with moderate gain and go from there. The 90SE might be the perfect candidate for the system. Might consider putting in the strongest servos you can find. Go for strength over speed. The load is higher on the servos. The flybar contributes a bit of the force onto the main grips. Not to mention Non- CCPM systems take more load. Don't worry about the loss in speed, what you loose in speed you make up for in the flybarless system. They can pivot on a dime and no flybar system can do that. Take a look at Matt Botus flying his Synergy. Its unreal.

One last note after you go flybarless keep it tame until you know the limitations of the helicopter. flybarless heli's are balistic in performance and I can easily see ripping the head off of a flybarless heli doing simple flips and rolls.

A friend just warned me about using to much gain from the start. You might get uncontrollable oscillations that may cause a crash. Start from 0 and work your way up.

Just buy a couple 240s, the gain is adjusted on the gyro and don't put it in HH. Start the gain really low and go from there. Actually you don't really need gyros at all, but I put one 240 on the elevator to stop the ballooning effect in FF.

I also have a R50 with 120° CCPM that I put the CSM set up on and with the settings on the CSM web site, the eR50 with one 240 gyro flies just as good and a lot less expensive.

They line up on C/L.

I am doing this on a stretched 90 going into a fuse.

I just got the boom material last night.

It should be fun swinging 800mm blades on a Rap.

i did this with my raptor 50 , used 2 401 gyro`s , ended up with them on heading hold , awesome in flight , auto`d easy , high winds easy , but the elevator would need lots of care , i`m tryin other stuff at present but will be going back to that project in the summer , but will use a 720 on the elevator to see if its easier , the pitch pop on this set up was super sonic , go for it cos if you don`t wanna do 3 D the 720 ain`t needed
