So I gave my comments on the belt CP, but my brother in law has a problem with his King 2.

The tail belt jumps out of the 2 idler pulleys when I put it into hard turns. He doesn't have the problem because he is not quite flying full circuits, so he doesn't put it into harder wider turns.

Any advice. The tail belt tension seems about right. Anyone else had the problem. I'm getting him to check over the entire tail. I'll get another look at it in a few days.

Many of us King owners have had the (belt slipping off the pulleys) syndrome, some have not. The first time it happened to me I put some thin plastic washers on the botton side of the pulleys, seemed to work pretty good. Then one day while changeing the mainframe, as an experiment, I took the pulleys off altogether and have kept them off ever since. I will occasionally lube the outside of the belt with silicone spray and got well over 100 flights on one belt without pulleys, just one less thing to worry about when doing a frame change !

Shall I call you Doug

Well thank you Doug. We will experiment. I was perplexed, because I have belt idler pulleys on another micro and no issues ever.

You're a good man Doug. Thanks for the advice. I'll pass it on.

Thanks RED, In my humble opinion The only flaw in the Kings design is that the pulleys should flare out at the bottom of the pulley to keep the belt in its place. Other than that I love the King, still the best bang for the buck out there in RC heli's, I wish I knew about it before I spent alot of monies tryin to get the Eflite Blade CP to fly like the King. I'm not alone!!!(69A3-flare)

DougsRc,

I'm with you! Just got rid of 2 Blade CP's on Ebay, and replaced them with a HBK2. What money pits! Couldn't be happier!

I had the belt coming off issue right out of the box on my HBK2, as well as a motor that seized up solid while setting blade tracking initially.

I found that by flipping the pulley/washer combination upside down that the washer portion was just a touch larger and prevented the belt from coming off. I can now run the belt much looser than it originally came, and everything is working fine now.

Thanks to all

Much appreciated all. I'm sure he will feel more at ease now, because I had said I hadn't seen anything on the forum. However, seems others have had the issues and there seems to be a solution.

Once I spooled it up I thought it was too much for me I sure wish I had that bird now. It takes the dedication of a councilman to build an eco8. Any kid can throw an ARF together

Do some shopping and you can find longer bearings and get some longer screws. I thought I had a problem I just think the belt got brittle. If you know much about belts and pulleys you'll know once they loose the edge they will naturally want to roll.
