Got mine yesterday.
It's very nice
I'm having some problems with the Scorpion motor as an unannounced production change in the faceplate of the motor is making it difficult to mount to the heli without modification.
Scott at Rc-Tek is aware of the problem and is working toward a solution, even over a holiday weekend
I just drilled and tapped the faceplate of the Scorpion motor, mounted it and yahoo! I'm ready to set it up.
THe drilling was not easy, so I am hoping that Scott comes up with a simple plug and play adapter for those faint at heart!

Pics will come soon!!!

SJM430 On the way...

I have one on the way with the Scorpion motor. Scott at RC-Tek has outstanding service, even on a Sunday!

I think I will have several glow helis for sale soon, even some still in the box.

For those who still need to build the heli, here's a blog I made with some detailed pictures of the build. It may save you some time when building and point out some things to pay attention to for the less experienced builders.
Also a small video of the maiden flight (no 3D, just hoovering and some FF) at the end.

With all do respect, you should tell people you have an affiliation with HC and you were or will be compensated for your promotion of their offering via your HC hosted build thread. Did you actually pay for the item you are promoting? I am not flaming you, just trying to keep you honest as it seems you are cross posting this same link to the vendor in multiple US based forums.

Lastly, to clarify, the overseas Hong Kong version of the SJM430 you are promoting is not the SJM430 EČ, which is exclusive to RC-TEK/SJMRC.US here in the USA and comes with a different motor setup.

Yes, I have a (hopefully good) chanse of winning a 30$ store credit with my build blog, if you wanna call that 'compensation', fine by me.
Anyone can write a blog and compete for the 30$ store credit at hobbycity (see this thread) and have a shot at being 'compensated'. Winning is not related to the number of read or visits as far as I know, but is judged by the hobbycity moderator team.

My main reward are the comments from people who like my work and/or have been helped/inspired by it. I believe my buildblog to contain usefull info, wether you got your kit from rc-tek, an european, australian or chinese dealer.

I'm an ICT/electro-mechanical engineer from profession and as an ICT guy I strongly believe in the open source community. As a modeller I believe in free distribution of knowledge and experience and fair prices. That's why I'm a strong supporter of hobbycity.

You are correct that my SJM430 is NOT one of your SJM430 EČ versions and that it doesn't come with a scorpion motor or adapted motormount. Thanks for pointing that out, but it clearly states in my blog that this is a SJM430 from hobbycity, which is basically the same, except for a few gadgets and the scorpion stuff.

As for my honesty, I'll leave that to the reading public to decide.

To clarify, our problem is not with you so please do not think I am "out to get you". I have nothing against you as a person and I am happy you like the SJM430 regardless of where you obtained it from and the final price you paid. Anthony Hand, the fly by night owner of the whatever he is calling HobbyCity this week, is the focus of our ongoing copyright, intellectual property, and trade agreement issues so anything HC related will be a target until such time Anthony's conduct changes and he stops playing the unneeded games.

Your tag line on the HC forums, which is "Hobbycity is for the rc community what opensource is for the software community" may be your personal opinion, but for many companies like ours who must deal with the questionable actions of HC (often at great legal expense), the more appropriate tag line may be -

Hobbycity is for the rc community what the black plague was for Europe in the middle ages.

I will leave it at that. Enjoy your new heli.

Regards,
Scott

RC-TEK operates SJMRC.US from within the USA.

Here is a nice RC-TEK SJM430 EČ (Extreme Edition) video shot yesterday.
