The bulk of the SJM325 and SJM500 V1/V2 parts should be in the air to us within the next 2-3 days now that the factory is FINALLY catching up on things.

FYI:
Now available - the new SDG-502MG (metal gear) digital cyclic servo for the SJM500 and other "500 class" helicopters. Specifications and pictures are on our site.

Regards,
Scott

Just revisited the thread on RCG...Looks like the heli is going back to 385 mains, which is a shame, imho...425 blades at this weight would be excellent...Perhaps the frame will accomodate this , but it's not clear from the thread...

The polished ALU reinforcements are actually very expensive to make yet they are optional and can be easily removed for normal sport flying. Their main function is to add frame rigidity and strength to that larger 18mm tail boom and new 202mm disk tail during moderate 3D flying. In the near future, you will probably see alternative shapes and colors (like black brushed ALU) made available for this portion of the solution to tone it down if desired.

Scott

Side by side, the ALU is more robust than the CF and is better suited for this specific application on this size bird.

Scott, is this version available now, and the parts?
The kits are in production now and should be available in 7-10 working days. People can contact us and be placed on a reservation list for notification when the time comes. All existing SJM500 spares are already on our web site and updated parts specific to this version will be available at the same time the kit is released.

Scott

Yes, but this beastie has a larger boom, larger tail, larger main blades (producing the much larger main disk), thicker top frame, and the boom/skid reinforcements. The improvements outweigh the encrease in weight.

Scott
