QuickWorldWide Ep and Wet Fuel Helis > I will be buying a Quick next year!

I would not agree that Quick is junk. Yes, maybe their older models were not super 3D machines but their new heli line up is very 3D capable. Any heli can do 3D to different degrees, it's how you set the heli up. I talked with Irwin last week and they will have a new 50 this month. The prototype will be built next week from what I was told. Very compact, with flat fuel tank under the main shaft. Once that model is finalized, they will be coming out with a new 70,90 and gasser. The new heli line up from what I understand is designed for 3D. Their current heli line up is atleast 7-8 years old or older except their gassers. I don't know of any other manufacturer who has the heli line up that would meet the needs of any pilot out there. No one else has 3 nitro, 1 gas, and 5 electrics. I would not support a product that I thought was junk. I am an airframe and powerplant mechanic and commercial helicopter pilot, and I don't buy junk. I still have a few Robbe helicopters that I fly from time to time and would compare the Quick heli quality to a Robbe. Just hard to get Robbe parts in the US now. I just finished buiding their new fly, and it went together like a swiss watch. I wanted a larger electric than the trex 450 I had in Iraq, and didn't want to pay $5-600 for a lepton. Running 2- 3s packs in series for a 6s setup.

I have to agree

Although I am not a 3d pilot, I am fairly up to speed pertaining to heli design and construction. There may be some issues that 3d pilots had with previous quick helis, but from what I have seen in regard to their new and upcoming helis, even 3d pilots will be pleased. I got to see their new electrics, and also got a look at the plan for the new nitro machines. I think that even the most hardcore QWW "hater" will be saying "dam that is one good heli!!"
Is every heli perfect for everyone? Probaly not, but I think these new machines will be as close as anyone will get.

well i tried not to say a word about it but i got to say that no matter what someone posts on this forum there are at least half a dozen or more so call professionals that will bash the livin hell out of it just for something to say . damm you know if you dont like quick or any other brand just dont buy them there is no need to go around and just bash em because you dont like em. and yeah i am from pa. actualy 85 miles from the quick store. and i heard all the stories at fun flys oh dont buy quick they suck and and are poorly made. well folks i deceided to check them out on myself when i found out how close i was and well they are a nice machine for the price the parts are a nice quality and fit together as good as my raptor and preditors need. are they hard core 3d machines i got no idea cause i dont fly 3d. but the 2 that i have now are good enough for me so like i said back off guys lets keep to the good stuff all around. and give the info that these forums where ment to be. cause there are bad units out there made by every company trust me none of them are perfect. i have seen parts fail on all diffrent brands when at funflies. Sorry to have taken your post off alittle there invrtd and i can say you will like yours like i do mine.

It's funny Z11355. I have yet to read anything on a forum that you have stated that has any use. Thank you for staying true to form.

Kinda does sound like a advertisement

Ted, Every other forum on here has folks talking about how much they like their heli and manufacturer. Why is it branded "advertisement" when it is on the Quick forum? Just curious to your reasoning.

Bottom line is, the helis are fine pieces of equipment. PERIOD. I have seen a Q30 Learner take 3 different individuals from basic hovering to light 3d without issues. The only time parts were replaced are when they crashed. The heli is still flying today. I do some mild 3d, flips and such, but nothing stick banging, and my helis have been great.

I definately think the new ones are worth looking at....and there is more comming. Hopefully in the near future folks will come on here to contribute something useful, instead of taking pot shots at the heli, company, and the heli flyers.

you must not have looked very hard.

I've given good answers, bad answers, smartass answers and everything in between depending on the 'level' of the question.

In this particular case, it was pretty obvious you're just shilling.
Odd how no other helicopter vendor (save most Century junk) have people who know little (I don't 3D but I can tell you it's a great 3D machine) (yea, I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV) gushing over how wonderful it is and by golly, I'm just gonna get me one!

You must not read the forums very much

Also: You are saying that guys who fly Quicks know little?

Funny, I've been flying helis for 22 years, how bout yourself?

Bottom line is all you added to the thread was an offhanded comment to belittle the flyers of the heli.

I would really like to get a Octane Dominator 20cc Heli, but I heard here on RR, that there was a lot of problems with the kit, when put it together and after when flying it, I would really like to know if it was all true ?

I can't really speak for the 20cc because I haven't assembled one. I do know that it is pretty much exactly like the 26cc that I do have except for the frames. The 26cc has 3mm frames and the 20cc has 2.5 or 2mm, not sure. The mechanics are pretty much the same. I know that the bearing blocks are the same as well as the head. The only issue I ever had with mine was with the tail box. After I changed it to the CNC tail, no problems whatsoever with anything else. I have at least 20+ gallons through mine without any mechanical failures. You have to take your time and assemble it with care, and check yourself twice!! I didn't have to do any grinding on anything like has been stated in some posts. Now I can see if you were to put in some bearing blocks upside down, you would have to do a bit of grinding.

It's not an arf by no means

Hey Z11355, why the interest in knee pads, are you looking for a new profession. It seems like a natural choice according to the personality traits you portray online. I am on here talking about the heli I like, and the hobby, your talking about knee pads. Just something to think about.

I would not worry too much about who is a supporter of HHI, who someone thinks is shilling. All of this minutia posting, or arguments if the machines are good, 3D capable, or not. This is all wasted energy really. Just fly and enjoy your heli, HHI or not.

Thanks for that JA. Yes there are some changes comming down the pipe and everything is looking good so far. I have been a believer in the helis for some years now. I'm glad HHI will have someone to demonstate and represent these very capable helis.

I ignore posts of any negativity towards me for flying what I want to fly, or doing what I want to do. Just so it is known, I dont waste my time with that stuff. I will not ruin my stay at RR by not abiding to the rules, ever. Its all "posting manure" I call it when it happens. So if you see no response to one of them, please don't take offense, I have other things much more fun and enjoyable to do like everyone else.

Like JA Allen stated, it has alot to do with setup. I run the long flybar with light paddles and shimmed the head to stiffen it up. The roll rate is great and the heli has no pitchy tendencys in in fast forward flight. From talking to Jon at the shop, he says the new nitro machines will have 3 mainshaft bearing blocks and the clutch will be supported by 3 bearings also. This sound like they are definately designing the new machines for 3D. I can't wait to see the new 50 when it is finished.
