I have finally got my Gohbee 90 all setup I think and ready to fly. I did try and start it just a few ago and no luck didn't start up. I not sure why I was using a good charged 12v battery and starter. They tryed at the hobby shop and his battery was low. So I am thinking I might need a bigger battery like 18v like I used to use. But I have it all setup now thanks a big big thanks to Jerry and his buds that help me set it up correctly. I am hoping to fly this thing soon. I have pics below:

Just my two cents worth, but even though this kit is an ARF did you check all screws for locktite. The two gohbee 90's I have delt with had locktite on only about half the screws. GOOD LUCK!!

I have checked and made sure all screws were tight or almost all. But I didn't add looktight to them all as some didn't have it. But my other heli doesn't have locktight on alot of it but I will check them again and maybe add some.

It is always a good idea to locktite any screws or bolts that thread into metal, especially on a new heli, because a rich motor being broken in does't run as smooth and can cause extra vibration. It is always good to have a little extra insurance.

What do you mean by small steps Watson? You mean about the flying part? Because I can fly my Hawk Pretty good and should have no problem flying this one same as I do other one. Or so I hear because it is bigger so even more stable . But I of course am not going to try anything with it I would try it with my 30 first lol. I only crashed my 30 once and that was just like my only plane crash because I paniced and didn't stay with it.

Well looks like I may have to go to hobby shop again. Because I can't get the engine to even act like it wants to start. I mean I didn't add fuel etc last time but I can't turn it over much if at all. It might be my starter since I tryed before when it was locked up. But I really don't think so because it still works fine.

on my first stinger 90 i had to loosen the glow plug to relieve the compression .the motor had so much compression the starter wouldn't turn it over.i was using a hobbyco 180 with 24 volts on it.this finaly got to motor to turn over and after the motor got a few hours on it i didn't have to mess with the glow plug any more.

Keep us updated on how it holds up . I had one and hated it I have seen $100 fix pitch heli`s fly better than the 90 ..Now the 50 was great and would buy one of them in a heart beat...The 90 you could`nt give me one..

Oh really the 90 sucks that bad? It is bigger so should be more stable then my 30. But yea it is like a Raptor only the head is different so I thought it should be good. But I did worry and still do because of the head it may fly different or worse. But I asked and people said it flew good maybe I will have to get a raptor head then later on.

Well I got it started by loosing up the glow plug. I had to loosen it real far to get it to work and then the glow plug shot out after a few. Not sure if that could have damaged something hope not. But haven't got it started since burned down both my glow batterys trying again.

Congratulations on your newly completed machine.

I am just entering .90 territory with the, very similar, Raptor 90 3D.

Please take each bolt out, clean it and the hole that it threads into and locktite it. I buy a lot of ARF's and, while the manufacturers are usually pretty good about it, you don't want to have to worry, and you don't want to have a safety issue with your brand new ship.

Certain things are more critical than others like the spindle bolts, the set screws that hold the pins in the tail drive pulleys, etc. but you really should go through the entire machine.

Yea I am thinking on trying to fly it. Hobby shop owner set it up for me but I am thinking I should let him test fly it first. My last one he setup and I test flew because of poor servos so he wouldn't. Its not that I can't fly it I sure I can just like my 30 but something might be wrong but I doubt it. I am thinking I might try and just get it off the ground and hover maybe. But these things scare me my last new heli I thought was ready and throttle linkage wasn't hook up or came off and couldn't shut engine down so we had to reach under and pull fuel line and that was scary with blades spinning at full speed. So a tad scared of these things when new lol.

My best advice to you is check it over, then check it over again, Gohbee's quality control isn't the greatest. That is why I suggested you go over it and check everything for locktite. All in all gohbee heads fly very well as far as I am concerned. I like the underswung flybar, thats why I converted my raptor 50 over to the gohbee head. Flybar doesn't get in the way when cutting grass inverted. Best of luck!!

ive been fling my 90's for allmost 2 years with out any problems.the first one had a clutch issue but after that it been fine.the 90 flies much better than the 50 in my opinion.if you have any questions pm me and ill send you my phone #.

Well can't get engine started again. It is worrying me wont start at all now. All that happened was glow plug was so lose when it started last time that it blew the glow plug out hoping it didn't hurt engine some how what you think? It could be that its flooded and my starter cant turn it over at full throttle any ideas? Oh glow plug burns nice and fuel is in fuel line thanks.

you might have stripped put the cylinder head glow plug threads when the glow plug shot out? Is there fuel leaking out of the head? You might also turn the engine on the pipe side and turn the engine over a few times by hand. That is just to clear a flooded engine.

If you add to much voltage to your starter and try to crank over a flooded 91, you can bend the crank and damage the engine too.

I dont like just "Loosening the plug a little bit" because the possibility of damaging the threads.

Since the engine is still new there could be a possibilty that its just super tight and it might need a few flights to loosen up a bit.

Have you flown it yet to set the needles? It sounds like it could be a bit rich too.

No I haven't flown it yet I was trying just to get it started again so I can run some fuel there it like Jerry told me to. I haven't managed to get it started again though. I also took the glow plug out and turned it over a bunch to shot fuel out if it was flooded and nothing ever comes out. Not sure if that is a good thing to do or not but seen Jerry trying that I think. But my starter starts smoking because it wont turn over and is burning up but I will just get a new one will have to. I was told by Jerry that this starter would turn over a 90 good but not this engine I guess because it is new. It is the red HD version so I don't know. I am not saying Jerry told me wrong don't want to hear that again I am just saying it won't turn it over without losing glow plug. I have put glow plug back in and it screws in good so don't think it is stripped. But I would just like to get it started again to run some fuel threw it and then take it out and rev it up alot and get break it in on the ground then maybe fly it. I am thinking I might have to bring it to the hobby shop and have you guys look at it again. I only got it started twice and first time glow plug was lose and secound time it was to lose and it ran then shot glow plug out. Also I got my canopy for the heli done now just don't want to use the stickers that came with it for a windshield. I ask Jerry about one of those and he said he didn't have any yet and would be awhile. But I am not sure he got was I was talking about because he told me they were $30-$40 but I found them online for like $15 and Jerry is usually same price or close to as online. I don't want to order online I might leave it off for now. But I so want to fly this thing just need to get it started again.

when the motor started did you try to tighten the plug back?on mine i took the plug out and reinstaled it making sure to get at least one full turn on the threads.my 90 was very tight at first.it took this method around 3 tanks before it would start without messing with the plug.this method will allso let you know if its flooded ,the fuel will squeeze through the threads.

No when it started I didn't tighten it back. So then I killed it got it started once more and then it shot glow plug out. But threads I am almost for sure are fine.
