Congrats

I just want to give a big thanks to

Heli_Headcase,Tutalar,CaptainKirk,Bagderfarm,and,Ripmosher!! Without you guys this wouldn't have been possible.

I wish I could have spent more time in the booth. But other commitments kept me from that.

Anyways I hope to see lot's more next year.

I would say that was a big hit this year at the IRCHA Jamborre.

If you were there let me know what you thought.

Thanks JC

JC //
I agree ...it was these guys that made the booth this yr possible ... hope it will be a standard for the coming yrs .

I too had a lot of other committments that made it so I couldn't spend much time at the booth ... but did get the chance to spot for HC while he flew the 505 ....I need to remember to bring ear plugs next year Steve !!!! I forgot how loud those birds were .

What time I did spend there was a blast and others that I talked to ,,,,while carrying the partailly built 505 of mine to the booth was really great too. More interest in the oldies than I would have expected ..

Hey guys,
Captain Krik and I would like to thank all of you that were at the vintage booth for making space for our machines. We are already planning for next year and hope to have some more old interesting helis to bring along.

Just Arived Home from Muncie!

Wow, that was some event. Thanks to all the guys that participated in the vintage section last week. Was great meeting with you and talking "oldies". We have more to discuss and some planning for a bigger flying turnout. Maybe we can get some "noon time" demo slot to let the folks see the old equipment at center stage. Does that sound like a plan?

Admission Time: While test flying JC's 505, "I" let it hit the dirt. That pretty much ended its 2008 IRCHA performance. SKS Video Productions will likely be including the crash on the upcoming DVD as well as my instant redemption by a flight of my 505. I'm still not exactly sure why JC's went in but do have the heli here with me and will be fixing it up for JC so he can fly it later this year.

Larry - Should the operators of 505s show responsible behavior by providing disposable ear plugs for all spectators within 50ft of the 505's "noise radiation zone?"

It looks like we have groups of heli restorers that like to specialize in brands. JC is "Mr GMP", I should and easily can be "Mr Du-Bro", Kirk, Randall and TutalarRC (sorry guy, name lost, brain dead after a 10 hr drive. I remember your bro, Ed, but not you ) have heavy Schluter involvements. There were some extraordinary models present.

I'm signing off now. See if I can catch up with this thread later today after some much deserved rest.

Thanks all!
Steve

...would like to add...

A special thanks to Mr Milner for the use of the tent for our vintage collections and to Gerd of Minicopter for his support to those owners of the V2 Heli-Babys he manufactured. Gerd, will you be back to IRCHA in 2009, yes? Please make the trip, yes? We all would love to sit down with you and hear your stories from the birthplace of R/C helicopters.

Ah, a headless Shark That would have been cool to see fly in Muncie. Maybe in 2009 Kirk? I'll bring as many Du-Bros as possible, my collective Shark 60 is one that was AWOL from 2008.

Many Thanks

I would like to give thanks to all at IRCHA that made that event a success. Also to all that made the Vintage tent a success. I will definately be there in full force in 2009. I had a great time flying the Schluter machines and hopefully all that watched enjoyed the time.

Hi Stan, I appreciate the kind words. You just reminded me to send that flight-data-recorder power file to you for reference. I like that Vertol a lot!

Heli-Boy Inverted at IRCHA

If you didn't see CaptainKrik flying his stock Schluter Heli-Boy, with ball-bearing gyro, you missed a great show! Here it is on YouTube...

Heli-Boy Gyro Upgrade

Just so everyone can tell what good equipment can do...

CaptainKrik upgraded his ball-bearing gyro to a Futaba GY401 at IRCHA - look at the difference a professional HH gyro does. Now he becomes a real pilot.

YouTube link is: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chO3Rppvnek]

Get those vintage helis flying for IRCHA 2009 - we need to give CaptainKrik some competition!

Happy Flying!

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CaptainKrik was making this thing look easy!!!!!!!!!!
It just goes to show that a "wire" tail drive and a NON DRIVEN tail will fly..... and auto too!!!!!!!!!!!

He made it look like he was flying a real heli instead of the "lawn chair" that it really was!!!!!

Great Job..... and the first vid with the BB gyro looked pretty impressive to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you guys again soon....Stan

Here's mine for 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
