Speaking about 'New' vs 'Old'...

HelividD,

Have you read this following thread?:

http://runryder.com/helicopter/t392504p1/

The maker, Gerd of Minicopter Germany, will be at IRCHA. The Heli-Baby is one of the very oldest machines practical to reproduce using modern manufacturing techniques. The run of kits was to be of a limited nature but if you ask him nicely...

What Whirly thingy majig? Good deal are you bunking at my house or? Just got done night flying the GMP JetRanger with Cobra Mechanics. Flying pretty good.

I did fire up the WhirlyThing, and the motor is runing decent, but need to make some adjustments. That's what your for Steve double check my work.

This is going to be awsome.

That's the plan. Due to me bringing Max and Perry (my birds) with me, I can't be out at the field during the main heat of the day. Their temperature is critical. So I'll be there later or stop at your place first, drop them off, then go to the field. We'll work this out as the time comes.

What cell service are you using? I just upgraded my Verizon service Friday and if you're on the same, talk time is free.

Using 30% in the OS 40 works good but the fuel eats the plastic and paint. Place a clean rag or towel under the fuel tank while fueling and starting to protect the heli. The idle mixture should be close but don't expect a clean idle. With no exhaust heat captive (no muffler, remember...), it's idle speed has to be kept higher than you would normally expect otherwise it dies. But with no clutch to worry about, idle speed isn't really important. Watch my my videos again to get a feel for starting and idling RPM.

Yes, this should be a Blast! I understand us vintage flyers will have our own group tent but would it be advisable to provide a personal tent/canopy too?

Look at the time! After 4AM

G'nite...

Nah I'm on T-Mobile. Anyone have a heli I can fly while I'm there? I'm flying in with my cameras so I won't have a heli. I had planned to have my 530 and stuff on a trailer someone else was bringing but that didn't work out

Hey Steve, I am on Cingular but I have a ton of roll over min. So don't worry about that.

Give me a call when you get into town.

It wouldn't hurt if you could bring your own canopy. A group from my local field will be there with Couch,Fridge, and a lazy boy in our Canopy section, Lights and I also think a TV hahah

OK, canopy will be packed. Geez, I could almost camp out on the couch overnight Nah, need to feed the birdies every now and then.

Your Cingular minutes don't help me none. If you were on Verizon there would be no minutes charged for either one of us. But I won't sweat it if you don't. Hey, try to save me a spot within extension cord distance to Darrel Sprayburry. I'm planning to mooch off of his Honda generator.

Got to gen-er-ate! Good deal! In that case, you are welcome to share a portion of my 80Amp, 13.6VDC power supply for powering chargers. Lots of 'gator space' available for hookup.

Cool!

Blades and Canopys

Hey JC,

The local hobby shop gave me a box of blades, canopys, some other stuff. Mainly for old Cobras, maybe a heliboy canopy, not sure.

If I bring it out to IRCHA, will you see that it gets into someones hands??

I don't want anything for the stuff, just to get it out of my garage.

Where we'll be...

The vintage heli gathering place is the large white/red tent on the east side of "Scale Alley". JC and me will be there most of the time at least. A few other guys have showed up such as Captain Krick, Badger Farm and Ripmosher. Thursday will be 505 day. JC's 'bird is ready to test fly!
