Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > Limit for shimming Acrobatic head??

As some may know, I like tight head dampening. Well my dampeners were worn a little, so I replaced them, also added a set of the thinnest shims to my current shimming. Dampening came out like I like it, but some notchiness was introduced to the grips upon assembly. I have ordered thrust bearings, and currently have in stoch the radial bearings for that head. My question is, is there a threshold where shimming the head results in excessive preload to the inner radial bearing, causing a notchiness(nothciness at inner bearing, not at the thrust bearing)? My heli is 29LBS, has been flying great with the twin engine arrangement, but this head adjustment was initiated as the controls became a bit rough, with some AP2000 interaction wobble. The gradual onset of the "I might be a bad pilot feeling" that comes about as bearings gradually seize here and there in the head. All a sign to me that the grips are not as smooth when centrifugally loaded as they can be. Not bad for a heavy heli with a year of service, just trying to learn from others experiences. I would like to convert the head to run larger dampeners, not o-rings, as that may yeild a more linear dampening rate than orings, but that is a different project.

Thanks,

Eric

Well, I have placed three orings in the center between the plastic cups. They fit nicely and prevent vertical head axle travel, much like the head axle "ball" found on JR heli's and others. That with new hard rings on the outers makes things a bit better
