| OS 50 & ExpoHi Smokinjo,
Thanks for that wonderful description of the OS 50, sounds like a real screamer !!!
I am really looking forward to trying the Sceadu 50 now
Hi Stuart,
I am glad you use the Hatori pipe, as it is the same sort of pipe as I use (or will use !!) on all my heli's, I seem to have fallen into the OS / Hatori / Futaba combination, and well, it works great for me
Interesting you mention about the gyro Normal versus Heading Hold problems as that is one that is very dear to my heart at the moment, as I am still having problems which I am assuming is gyro related on the sim with the old FF8U Super radio.
When I used to fly the old heli on the FF8 I didn't have any expo at all. I also flew the sims without any expo on the FF8, but since getting the new Raptor and the FF9 I have taken to using 40% on Elevator and Aileron, but nothing on the rudder.
I find this much easier to keep a relatively stable hover, as I am having one or two difficultis moving from the FF8 to the FF9. The stick movements on the FF9 are far smoother than the FF8, but I am finding them less sensitive than the FF8, and therefore I tend to under-correct whilst hovering.
I went out yesterday, and got much better with the radio / heli combination, I can now hover the new heli even in gusting winds that we had yesterday afternoon.
The wind shure makes it fun, as a few times a gust came up and must have got underneath the rotor wash, as the heli shot upwards about 4 foot
I am having the same problem with the fuel, I run Coolpower 15%, I have taken the heli out twice and have had maybe a total of an hour in the air and I have already burnt a gallon
The FF9 really is a great radio though, I wasn't sure I really wanted one, I would have just been prepared to stick with the spare FF8 I still had and put the cost of the replacement towards the Raptor 60. But now I have the FF9, I am really glad I do, it is so easy once you get used to navigating the menus. In fact I set mine up more or less from scratch without even looking at the manual
How do you find the 9253 servo? I use and agian it is one of my default items now, the 9450, with on the Raptor 30 a CSM 540, and on the Sceadu and Raptor 60 the GY401.
I am not overly happy with the 540, as it appears to be a little twitchy and very sensitive to adjustment, so I might swap it out at some point for a GY401, as quite apart from anything else, I like to stick with Futaba kit.
Cheers,
Peter. |
