Damn, even modeles the coil in the glow plug!

Damn fine work.

He deserves more than a set of blades IMAO...

I wonder if that is why your weight is off from OS specs? do they provide their weight with Glow plug weight included?...

thanks guys

my weight is probably slightly off because of the bearings. i used solid blocks for bearings. despite people trying to help me out with their bearing files, and on the internet, i couldn't seem to find the exact ones i needed. so i just said to heck with it and modeled those, haha.

but none the less...i find it amazing that my solidworks model came in so close to the actual weight. i have always wondered how good these cad programs were at determining the mass of an object.

i will admit though, looking back at those renderings, im actually pretty happy/proud of my work

As you should be.

I taught myself SolidWorks in a few sessions and it was the best thing I could have ever done. When I went through school, my University was pushing Mechanical Desktop 4. That package just wasnt used anywhere so they switched to Pro-E. Unfortuneately, I had already taken the class.

You'll find that people who are good with CAD programs are sought after, atleast here in the US. One of the first questions I always got in interviews was what CAD package I knew and how proficient was I with it.

Once you get good with one package, transitioning to the rest is kind of straight forward.
