It looks just like the Beam 450 - I mean EXACT. Is it a beam? The beam 450 is available right now at the toledo show - and they have a combo with the scorpian motor and speed...

I had a chance today of buying beam today, but after looking closely at both the bandit and the beam I decided not to buy a beam and wait for the bandit (even though the ladies at the beam booth almost pushed me over the top). Although they are simular, the heads are almost completely different, along with a few other aspects. So in short I'm waiting, I think it will be worth it.

you might want to look a little closer. the CCPM layout is different, the head is completely different, the tail is completely different, etc etc. Fly both, and you will realize just how different they are. Its truly a world apart between the two.

The Beam and the Bandit are similar at first glance but the Bandit is different. The Beam is a great improvement over the Trex especially in the servo configuration in that all of the swashplate control rods are the same length. This eliminates almost all of the ccpm interaction. The Bandit has taken it one step further in that all the servos are aligned to address the swashplate at 90 degrees.

The skids and struts are all one moulded piece and unbreakable.

I think the head is obviously different from any head I've ever seen on any helicopter.

The not so obvious things that are better about the Bandit is the quality control that it is put together with.

I think it is important to point out that MA is a small business with a small staff. I use to work there when I was in high school and I was there when the first X-Cell was being designed. When it was released it took the world by storm and very quickly became the best and most popular helicopter on the market. Now some twenty years later MA still has about the same size staff and they have not gone into mass production overdrive with lowered quality control. Tim is a very meticulous person just as his father was. I have not seen a published release date on the site and therefore I assume that none of you have a promised release date. MA reps may tell you when they are hoping to release by but there have been no promised release dates. I own two Beams and they fly great and MA knows they fly great and that is why they will raise the 450 bar when they release the Bandit. Be patient.

Bandit to be out by the end of April! Canopies were done this week. Final packaging being prepared. First shipment of 1000 due in two to three weeks. All are spoken for (wait list and vendors who have pre-ordered). Next shipment of 1800 due middle June. Also, Nitro 50 should be shipping by the end of May.

A lot of people put their names on the list back at IRCHA last year, along with dealers when it looked like Miniature was doing the BEAM. Tim contacted most of them and asked if they wanted to stay on the list now that he was doing his own thing. So between that and dealer pre-orders, that is why the first shipment is sold, including overseas market.

BANDIT 450 Supply

Okay a little of an update. To maybe clear up some possible confusion caused by one of my previous posts, the first shipment of Bandit 450's is sold out. But, they should be available at dealers. Most of the dealer's have BO'd this kit when they found out it was going to be available. Not sure what all dealers have them on order, but there should be plenty available for the modelling public. Unless, of course, the dealers have customers on backorder too, but there should be many to go around. Plus the next shipment is due in June (1800 in that one).
Sorry if I implied that if you weren't already on a BO list that you wouldn't be able to get your hands on one.
