Me again HHC. The head shown for the Cobra is the same as mine but without the spring on top. It is about as rusty as mine !

The AH1S has the metal oil filled gear box.

I just assumed there was no tail rotor from the picture. Thats pretty crazy grabbing the tail right next to the tail rotor.

I've known about this for a while. It's great news for the people restoring old Kavan products but I'm unsure of the future success of this endeavor. Anyone needing parts such as windows (glazing) for their Rangers, gett'em while they're hot!

Too bad they had to pick the name "American RC Helicopters" for their company name. The Revolution 40 put out by John Simone under that same moniker in the late 1970's gave helis a bad name in general.

Got it, and it's posted in my gallery, in a section now dedicated to the 505 and the Superbird. It's posted alongside the "Whirlybug" button and the Instruction/Assembly manual.

Wow, 1973. Much earlier than I remembered it being printed. That means I've been messing around with these machines for longer than I remember, as well!

Thanks.

A rotor -- AND a prop? Is that a heli or a wingless plank? A pleli? A hank?

Close, but I'd say it's more like a "Protor" (Prop-Rotor)
