My name is Bryan and I wanted to let everyone know if your close to Irvine,Ca there is a huge field off the 5 Frwy and Sand Canyon go west. I park at 32 Discovery so map quest it and meet some of us up there. Ive flown there during the week a couple times. Its a huge field that can accomadate quite a fue flyers.

WOW Thanks for that post. That is a bad spot though. Its to close to the freeway and the police show up often. They also have a bad manager woman that comes around. There is no restroom and people poop all over the field so retrieving a plane after landing can be poopie. That makes it quite hard to fly there. Also there is a man that goes there that thinks he knows everything about everything and tries shoving his opinion down your throat. He doesn't know when to shut up. Thats probably the worst problem.

Probably the best solution is to fly the field at bake. It has a much nicer field with no poop and better people.

Spek yes please come on down this is a great field. There are only a couple of us that fly there during the week.. Ive never had any problems with people I did have a guy come out the other day I think his name was Mike and all he asked was dont hit my truck.

I said no problem.

Greezer the frwy is not a problem this place is huge. I fly close to the street and it is never a problem. We have only seen the police once and they stopped and watched. I think we have the green light.

I did meet a guy out there today named Dan and he said he has been flying there for a long time.

Lowflyer its a great spot.

I flew 2 packs there today and no one came out to talk to me but I did crash my 450

. There was a guy and his son flyen a plane or what looked like a jet but im not sure. I might be out there tommorow if anyone is in the area.

Im sure with all the people that ive seen fly there permit is not needed.

Do you have a permit?

Im sure some people here on RR want to keep the location private and thats cool I understand but there is plenty of field to go around. So keep cool and just have fun.

Hello airboss and local oc guys. I have been flying a new place recently. It is off bake and the 5 fwy away from everything. No fwy's No people NO nothing. its off bake at the water towers. On the weekend you can fly gas to. Bring your helis, planes, gliders, girlfriends friends etc. etc.

Look up rancho parkway and orchard in foothill ranch. It is a huge huge vacant plot of land.

Thats a good spot to. The only problem ive seen is that you hafto park down below and walk your stuff up a little hill and you cant see your stuff in the parking lot. Also the ground has alot of sand in it. Like i said its a nice spot.

Oh nooooooooo. The internet police are gonna be calling up the city now to get this placed banned. Unfortunitely, when ever you post a place to fly on a forum as this, there is always somebody somewhere that will call the city, and get local officials out there to ban u guys from flying there. We had this happen to a SCHC Funfly one month, when we posted on RC Groups where our funfly would be located. But the RCG Ratts sniffed us out, and got city officials out there to try to stop us from flying. Luckily, we had a very smooth talking club memeber who was able to convince the guy to let us continue our event, but it would be our last one there. Now, we have a private field to fly on, allowed by the owner!!!
