Trooper Sam,

Did you change your vacation schedule? Can you do the Helicopter Rescue again? It was alot of fun last year.

Not to worry, Don...the date change was approved, and I'll be there and glad to help with the event again.

You might want to remind me of the time of the event the day before, so I don't come staggering out of my RV half asleep, barely making it to the flightline in time.

A suggestion

If i may i have suggestion. I`ve enjoyed this funfly the past couple of years and i`ve been in the hobby a while.

While the demos are very good i don`t think you need to have the same heli , in this case the align 600 nitro, flown by 7 or 9 guys last year doing pretty much the same routine. Either by themselves or in tandam.

It used to be a demo was put on by a rep from that heli company and that was it.

Again, just a suggestion.

Yeah I have to agree. Unfortunately, do you see much variety in this market anymore? That's a good representation of Align's success.

I know, we all know align is successful but we don`t need 10 demos of the same heli.

Trooper Sam,

Great news, glad you can make it. I'll give you plenty of warning this year

Scott S.

I had a lot of complaints last year about the Demos. What do you guys think about not closing down the field for Demos this year?

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Don

Don,

I think that is a good idea. Not shutting down the field has started to be the norm at most funflies. If you have sponsored pilots flying just make a quick anouncement to focus attention to that flight station. This seems to work very well.

I agree with not shutting the field down for sponsored pilot demos. Not everyone cares anymore (especially when you can see the same guys fly the same stuff via videos on the internet over and over again...not like ten years ago, when you had to actually go to a fun fly to see really good pilots fly).

If you have a good PA system, then having the sponsored guys able to make announcements about their flights and equipment flying at a certain station seems like a good idea.

Or, possibly reserve a central flight station, say from 1130-0100 each day (shorter or longer as necessary), and have the sponsored guys line-up and fly one after another as they so desire. That way the field stays open, but the sponsored guys trying to push their products at least get a little "center stage" action.

My son and I are planning on attending...and hopefully flying a demo or two for Team Mikado USA. It will be our first year at this event, and it sounds like a good one.

Take care, Dave (and Kyle) Dahl.

Yes sounds good not to close down the field. Less flying time!

Agreed

Like Dave Dahl said, its all the same anymore. Put the fun back in funfly, no demos needed or if someone wants attention put them at the end of the field and announce that so and so is flying such and such and if you want to see it go down there now.

Thanks for listening.

Dave,

We bought a LOUD PA system last year after renting them for so long, I will give the sponsored pilots the mike this year. I usually end up butchering their last names anyway (Sorry Bert).

Glad you can make it this year. It will ge great to meet you.

Thanks,

Don

Guys,

It's getting closer!

We will have food available on Saturday and probably Sunday too.

Working on the T-Shirts now, Is there a request for any colors rather than white?

Thanks,

Don

T shirts

How about like the old days if you preregister by a certain date you put the pilots name on the t-shirt, not seeing that much anymore.

Well I'm excited, it will be a great time.

It's getting closer

September is a great time in San Diego, not too hot plus a little cloud cover in the AM to keep things cooler in the AM.

There are no sound restrictions at our field. We can fly from early dawn to late at night.

Guys bring your night rigs!
