I am thinking of a second heli, I want to experience the stability of a bigger heli possibly the belt CP. But haven't heard much about it. Or my second heli could just become another HBK2.

I have built a heli from scratch not an ARF a kit the Eco8 which I now wish I would of kept but sold to buy a futaba 2.4ghz radio, all that punching out and cutting plastic will make a man out of you but for me it was a blast I had it done in under a week with ease. I know the parts of a heli and am very comfortable with assembly/disassembly. I wanted an unbiased review of a belt cp all I can find is from someone who is selling them. I don't want anything else I am keeping my loyalty to E_sky. Its either another HBK2 or beltcp. I want to start acquiring parts for another heli while I am still beating on the HBK2. I always need a project on my bench.

Besides all that I learned on a BCPP so as anyone who had one knows our building skills quickly become very good.

below are my helis I have toyed with never flew the eco8 spun it up with brushless power indoors and got scared of it.

BTW here is a complete eco8 kit I was amazed the fact that a heli could be built with so little parts. But the instructions were great especially for a heli that was one of the first electrics designed in the early 80's with a 10cell nicad pack.

Tryan, I haven't heard any negatives about the Belt-CP, almost all positive. It looks as though the frame is MUCH stronger than the Kings. It appears to be ESKYS answer to the TREX 450, pretty much the same size and weight. I was going to get one before I got the king but because I already had 7 - 11.1 1350mAH batteries , I didn't want to start all over and have to buy a bunch of 2200 mAH bats. If you do get one you might want to consider one with the metal head right off the bat. There are quite a few videos on YouTube of the BELT CP and it looks like it is very stable and 3D capable.

RC Heli just had a luke warm review of it. Maybe 3.5 out of 5.

I don't see how you can go wrong with it for the price and many of the head parts are interchangeable with the King If i didn't have the (bad word) Trex se I'd probably get one.

There is gotta be at least one RunRyder member out there who actually owns a Belt CP who can give us his assessment of the Belt CP---CALLING ALL Belt CP owners--Please chime in !!!

Okay here ya go.....

Belt CP Review by an actual owner....

1st off I consider myself a new flyer. I have only been addicted since June of this year. I own a CP Pro, HBK2, HDE T-Rex 450, and the Belt CP and several nitro’s. What makes me qualified to write this review? My newness in the addiction, (meaning if it is a lousy flyer I'll know)

Been crashing the CP Pro for a few months, added the fancy Micro Heli head, Dual tail motor etc.. Squirrelly as hell. Then RC Super Sales convinced me to try the HBK2

WOW!! I can fly…… Flew this for a few months really learning how to fly..

Now comes my review. The Belt comes available.. Of course I had to get one. UPS Brings me the package..

Upon opening the box, the first impression is.. It looks like a bigger HBK2. The head and tail is just about identical to the HBK2 except I notice the high stress points are upgraded with metal balls and what looks like a tougher swash..

The next morning I was ready.. Battery charged, Pre-Flight done checking everything since I did not build it (Oh I purchased the RTF version). One of the first things I noticed was the head speed followed by just how smooth the Heli was spinning up.

A little more stick and it was up!!!! WOW What a smooth Heli. After a couple of short flights it was off to the flying field.. Let me add I have by this time also been flying the T-Rex as well so I had a direct comparison to the Belt CP. For those of you whom have never flown the T-Rex WOW!! Very sensitive on the sticks.. You want the Rex to turn well it does right now!!! If you are a noobie like me the Rex is a little scary It jumps and moves like it is pissed off. A bit of a handful for a 1st year crasher haha..

Now back to the Belt CP. Now that I have it really up in the air the Belt is a dream to fly. I would consider it like flying a recliner. It will not scare you. It will not just take off, it is just a real comfortable Heli to fly. If the Batt’s lasted longer I could fly the Heli all day. Turns, figure 8’s Really fast FF, Others watching me fly the Belt ask if I had been flying for awhile. It is also stated by watchers on just how smooth or easy it looks to fly..

Now what I do not like about the Belt. After flying both the Rex and the Belt for a few months this is my comparison. If you are into WOW!! Heli Acrobatics then the Rex is for you. Power, speed, agility, it has it all over the Belt, but you better hang on and never look away while the Rex is in the air. The Belt is in my opinion one of the most comfortable fliers around. It will never scare you. It will never over roll, or loop on the edge of control. It just flies.. I can put batt after batt in it and just keep going all day. The Belt does everything I ask it. Never complains or glitches, it just does. And you can talk to your buddy standing behind you with out have a heart attack.

Now that some months have gone by of course I had to see just how much Rex stuff actually fits the Belt

Rex Head Yes it will work, but you have to cut a few mm off the top of the main shaft. You also have to swap out the linkage ends on the Belt swash to accept the Rex links. The best thing to do is just order the HDX450 Swash from rcsupersales.net

Rex Tail box Yes it will work, but the Belt has alignment holes the Rex does not. Simply cut it down to fit. After the last crash just went back to the Belt tail.. works great…

Rex Head on a Belt. This is how I fly it now. Really woke the sleepy Heli up. Still way more docile then a Rex, but now a little snappier. Unless you really want to try a Rex head on the Belt it really is not worth the expense of buying one. Best improvement! With the Rex head I do not need to use those dam shims anymore in the main blades.. Hated those things. Moved the original Belt head to the HBK2 since it is brushless now.

Other changes done since owning it.. Changed out the RX so I can use my Futaba 7CHP and added a 401 Gyro. The original tail servo wore out in a month, swapped it out too for a HS-81. Yea I know better stuff is out there, but this is supposed to be a cheap flyer..

In conclusion.. The Belt CP is my favorite Heli to fly. No stress flying.. Handles quite a bit of wind. Have flown it in lousy 15 mph wind and well it flew.. No crashing

One more thing in conclusion.. When I crashed it hard learning inverted it was actually cheaper to purchase the ARF for 75 bucks then it was to fix a really broken heli.. Guess what? I have another brand new Heli…..

Anyone can contact me for more details……

Thanks
Hate_To_Crash thats what I wanted to know. One more question would you say the BeltCP flys like the HBK2? I have the brushless hdx3800rpm in my king and its plenty of performance for me. But I want a good size scale bird I don't see many bodies for the BeltCP though thinking a Trex shell would fit. Have you any scale birds in that fleet? Otherwise I'll have to stay with another king Cause I must have a Bell222.

Actually the HBK2 flies more like the Rex.. Quick and fast, better hold on to it..

The Belt is alot more docile then the HBK2. I use the HBk2 to practive 3D so as not to trash my Belt... Then I fly the Belt to be smooooooooth hehehe....

As for the Canopy, yes any 450 class Rex or simular canopy works fine.. Esky has just come out with several Scale bodies for the Belt.. Again any Rex Scale will work fine...

Hey Crash

Thanx for the review.

You pretty much summed up what the reviewer from RCHeli wrote.

A nice docile machine.

now all I have to do is decide. BeltCP or HBK2 for the scale bell222 I'm scared to make the jump. I know the HBK2 inside and out and e_sky has the fuselage just a bolt on. the Beltcp would be a bit tougher using a trex fuselage.

T-rex and the Belt Cp is for all intents and purpouses are the same size. The only basc differnces is that the Belt Cp has the flybar over the rotor and the T-rex has the flybar under the rotor. Check out my gallery Theres quite a few 450 size Scales in there. Ive flown the Belt Cp with almost all the 450 size bodies in my gallery and there are quite a few bodies availble for the King2 also. You can pretty much rest assured that if you find a body for the T-rex, it will also fit the Belt Cp no matter the manufacturer.
