Has anyone tried the RCP 1500w motor that ReadyHeli sells? What is the difference if any between the RCP motor and the Gaui 1500w (two-tone silver and bronze)motor. Any info would be great!

I haven't but if you are into hardcore 3D, go fot the Z-Power Z30-1100kV. This motor has more than enough power for the Hurricane. If you are running smaller capacity packs (i.e. below 2200mah) go for the Z20-980kV. This is pretty good for sport flying and mild 3D.

I am using the RCP H18 1000w 1100kv motor and it is great, I would not recomend the RCP or Gaui 1500w motor unless you are running over 3200mah packs and prefferably 4000+mah. but honestly the Z30 is probalby just as good if not better and more efficient, and even with the H18 you will outperform a raptor 50. looks like the H18 is some place inbetween the Z power z20 980 and z30 1100kv powerwise but even the Z30 might give a little more flight time. I love my H18 but If I could find one i would go for one of the Z's. Don't waste the $$ on the RCP 1500 or the Gaui 1500w.

Thanks for your suggestion; however, the motor in question is not going into a Hurricane 550, its going in an HDX-500 so size (dimensions) of the motor is critical. My first choice would have been the Z30 but its overall length is to tall for my heli and would make contact with my swash. I know this RCP motor is probably overkill but im from the school of thought that "their is no replacement for displacement!"
