I have finally taken the leap and ordered the CCPM carbon fiber conversion kit for the MX-400pro.

Looking for any tips or advice on how to and what not to do.

What should I be watching out for besides the tree in the middle of the yard and the hard ground that sometimes appears sooner than expected?

Tips, tricks, hints are welcome.

Thanks.

Hey Whodaguy,
Just like the Trex, the 400 needs to be setup correctly. Good enough is not good enough. Make sure to get the geometry right on the swash. ECCPM
requires swash mixing on the TX and MCCPM does not. Instead of one servo controlling roll and one for pitch and one for collective. The three work together to control all. As far as the build goes, everything is pretty straight forward.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Proline.

You are absolutely right with what you say. Setup is everything. I have preached that many times to the newer flyers.
I'm using a JR6102 with futabu serveros and a 401 gyro.
I have modified the heli with the TREX tail boom and drive system as well as switched to the TREX feather shaft and main blade grips. I use Curtis Youngblood 325 CF's and they make the heli handle very well.

I am at the stage now where I think I want to advance past the regular FF and stall turns. Let's progress.

I like my CP blade with CCPM...I know there is no comparison...but...I can loop that and I like the responsive ccpm so I figure it can only make the 400pro better.

I was more concerned with the actual construction and as you say it is pretty straight forward so now it's just waiting for the parts and let's get 'er done.

Sounds like a hell of a bird. You will love it. Very, and when I say very, I mean very responsive. I would add 20% expo at first just to get the feel of it. Sorry for the noob advice I gave you earlier. I did not realize you were a seasoned flier. Might help those that are not though.
Keep us posted on how its going.

Happy flying and be safe.

ECCPM is definately a bonus in my book. If you're used to
flying Blades you may not think the 400 as responsive. I
deep sixed the standoffs that came with the 120 deg. swash plate
and it really helped the roll rate. You don't have to clearance
the canopy as much either.
