My 300 is back in action, and flying good, would be great but no anti rotation guide. Just wanted to thank gmcullan, dont know if thats spelled right? And the rest of you 300 supporters! This bird looks good in the air!

Did some wobbly circuits out front to day, maby tomorrow or the next day I'm gonna try inverted hover!

GM whats the status of you're custom main shafts? I hope to see you on here sellen em soon!

Thanks

Cope, it looks quite nice. Glad to hear your back in the air. My HDX300 is out of the air. Nothing major, had the one-way bearing fail this evening. It quickly lost rotor speed as the motor was screaming, but was able to land safely. Almost had to laugh, as this was the first time I've ever had a one-way fail. Ordered one from HeliDirect this evening, should have it Friday, Saturday at the latest.

The material is on hand for the rotor shafts. I just need to finish grind it to size and surface finish. As soon as I finish up an order for 5000 slot car axles, I'll be able to jump back to the main shafts. I'm going to get some beta units out in tester's hands prior to any commercial launch.

Also, thanks for your kind words. The sharing of information is how this Forum shines. In that regard, thanks also to Mark for hosting this forum and giving us the opportunity to share.

Cope, I saw you put on an extended battery tray. Makes quite the difference in balancing the heli, doesn't it?

The other thing I did was to place 1/2" (approximately 12 mm) spacers between my landing skid legs and the heli frame. This raises the heli up enough that I no longer have to worry about tail strikes while flaring to land or in low hovering maneuvers.

Dooooh! OK to much wind to day! One thing I learned is the cpp feathering shaft is the same as the 300 shaft.

Ouch, that's a good one. How did the main shaft hold up?

It was waisted, I just hammered it back straight. getting pretty good at saving em! I lay it on the anvil and hammer and roll untill it's good, I also painted my blades last night.

I like the colors, nice and bright. Airbrushed or rattle can?

I received my new one-way bearing yesterday, but won't have a chance to install it until tomorrow. Just got another big order for slot car axles, so I'm back to the shop. So I have to try and complete the run of them today.

Nice fade for a rattle can. Just goes to show you can get nice results without airbushing.

Have you tried the fiberglass blades that are sold through HeliDirect and others? These are longer in span and narrower in chord that the blades typically used on this size heli. I'm currently flying them on both my HDX300 and MicroHeli machines. Nice stability yet a good, solid control response when wanted.

Thanks! I like to think of my self as some what of a rattle can expert!
That paint job is p!ss poor in my opinion, but it took all of two minuets and looks cool in flight!
