Last weekend the local temp was very mild, and the backplate on the Hyper on my Hurrican 50 was decent at 105, but the head temp was 220 degrees! What's up with that high temp!

My other heli's were running around 160 to 170 at the head last weekend.

Are you guys seeing high temps like this even when your backplate is telling you all is well?

sounds normal to me, you might give it a click rich if you want but right around 200-215 is my head temp. works very good at this temp, no problems.

I firmly believe the shroud needs to come over the head better, as well as being a more enclosed shroud. this would significantly reduce temps imo

metal fan will help but i dont think it is the issue?

I've got one fitted in my Xtreme, however I only fitted it because I am running a Revlock RL20 and wanted a fan that ran true. I never ran the heli with the stock fan, but I feel the shroud is the problem not the fan. If you don't enclose a fan you loose all the performance and efficiency.

I am running one of these and it works very good, mounts right up no problems.
I did not see anything wrong with the OEM fan but just wanted a metal one.
