update

I still have not found it....looked through swamp, the woods...up and down.....night and day...nothing.

But on a different note, this is the funnest thing I read, two posts up, I think,

Not a heli, but many years ago a guy at our field hand lauched a glow powered glider without turning the reciever on. That thing slowly circled and gained altitude for 10 minutes. We jumped in a car and followed it for over and hour and a half before it made a perfect landing in a hay field 10 miles away.
Funny

Also not a heli but back last sommer I was flying an extra 300 with a da50 at a small airport with my brother and I had made 4 or 5 rounds and I think the battery came loose and we watched that airplane fly In big circles for about 5 minutesand then It started drifting off.my brother has a small two seater ultralite and some of his friends were already In the air so he called one on his radio and the man watched the airplane for us.It wend about 2 to 3 miles afay flying In giant circles and finally went down(totaled the airframe). He stayed up and directed us to where It had crashed and If not we would not have found It.I know how you feel watching It fly away and not being able to do anything about It.

Why didnt the Heli go into fail-safe? It should have gone into an ildle and floated down to earth (crashed).I always turn the Tx off and see what the Heli does when im setting it up,espeacially with 72Mhz!!

No power is no power.

The servo's aren't going anywhere if the rx battery comes loose.
failsafe or not.

this is a situation that calls for a throttle return spring.
