I wouldn't recommend doing any 3D flying with the blades that come with the kit. I had a blade fail in flight. Not a boom strike, one of the blades just snapped off 3 or 4 inches out from the grip. Luckily no people were injured, the heli and battery was a total loss.

These are the blades I'm talking about:

These blades had 15-20 flights on them and gave no warning prior to failure.

Sorry you got into an incident. Can you show some more pictures how the blade got failure. What head speed did you run at and what configuration of your machine.

Steve,

I was running a 1090kv MT Dragon (Axi clone) motor with an 18 tooth pinion and a 4 cell 3700 Flitepower battery. Around 2800 rpm.

As you can see, the flybar is bent in a U shape and the head block snapped off. The broken blade was found about 200 feet from the heli.
Also notice there are no signs of a boom strike either on the boom or the blades. The blade failed, causing an imbalance that snapped the head block and bent the flybar that way.

They are listed as:
HDX 425mm FRP/Carbon Fiber Blades - HDX500/Lepton

So are they CF or FRP?

Looks like they are FRP as there is no black at the break.

The leading edge is made of carbon and the trailing edge has a small strip also.
