Crashed? Discussion and Photos > When Good Helis go Bad!!!

Well "one more flight" downed my heli.
On my 6th flight on my 600N everything was going great. Doing a last inverted backwards hurricane my heli took a dive full speed. Funny thing is I didn't even feel I was going in till, I landed......hehehe, a very hard landing.
Trashed my frame, baseplate, skids, boom, vertical stabilizer, flybar, a new set of radix 600's, tore my pipe off and tweaked it, cracked OS case were the muffler bolts go thru, cracked my AR7000 rx, multigov flew about 30' from impact, 2 in 1 switch flew off, step down flew off, a very bent main shaft, spindle, might have to change out main bearings, grip bearings, stripped a screw on my fan shroud.
All in all my worst crash to date. But Hey, it was worth it hehehe.

Hope to have it back for this coming sunday, if my parts come in.

The one simple statement; "One more flight" or "One last flight" has cost me more than you can imagine!!!!!

Sorry to see so much destruction. Any ideas to as what caused it to go in?

Well the good thing I didn't say "One more flight", as I wasn't planning on it being the "Last Flight" of the day for me. The crash turned it into my Last Flight.

As to what caused it, I think I am 99% sure it wasn't mechanical. I think I dumb thumbed the bugger. Funny though I didn't seem disoriented when it went in. It was like I was just having fun and found the ground in all the excitement. hahahaha

I believe my stock frames were 1.6mm with the 2mm baseplate. I don't think even the 2mm frames would have held up with no damage. Maybe the 2mm frames would not have broke all the way thru but then again if it cracked anyhow I would be out more money with the 2mm frames.

Has anyone tried to double up the 1.6 mm or 2mm frames?

I am thinking of trying to reglass the old frame, as the only real damage to it is to the lower half of the 1.6mm frames and baseplate.

Low voltage on the spektrum rx?

Well Tioli I think you may have hit right on the money. Went to charge my 1900 2S rx lipo and guess what? The voltage read 4.1v. It is bit of a mystery to me seeing that before I took off, I could have swore my 2 in 1 read between 8.0 and 7.6v and it was my 6th flight and according to my calculations I supposed to have 6 -7 safe flights. Anyways I think my 2S 1900 Align lipo is toasted, well I will not use it to fly anymore just for set ups.

Gonna carry a voltage checker from now on and check after 4 flights(my normal flight per day)
