Most of you guys here probably are using lipo battery for your eco8. But did you run into any fitting problems with the canopy.
I'm using two thunder power extreme 2200mah packs in parallel. I have to mount both of them on the front to get a proper center of gravity balance. but the canopy doesn't fit in properly.

i understand the eco8 was design around the round sub c cells and that you move them back and fourth under the undercarage to balance. But lipo is much lighter and now i'm facing another delema.

does any of you have pictures of how you mount your lipo on your frame ands with the canopy mounted on.

thanks

It is not monday. If you go to RC Groups, I will post a picture of how my 4S 4000 packs mount.

I put as much of the heavy stuff up front as possable. I use a 9253 and a AAA NiMih rec pack since I needed more weight and it might as well be usefull. Pics in my gallery are with a 3s3p 6000 thunder power. I use a 3s 4000 now and it still ballances with everything under the canopy

so you add more weight to the front to balance it. the two TPX packs is so light, i had to move both packs of batteries up front to get a balance. if i mount both packs of batteries under the frame the canopy would not fit properly.
now mounting the battery under the frame is not an option for me anymore. i have to find another way of mounting it.

maybe i could mount the battery on top, in front of the motor. the esc and the bec can be mounted on the bottom. i think i will have to cut away the two empty tray in front of the motor. it will look more like the piccolo pro battery mounting position. this way the canopy will fit on without a problem, and balancing is spot on.

i'll post pictures when i'm done.
