hi,

when I spool up the heli the tail shakes and it goes away when I increase throttle. This happens during spool up on hard surface, if I put it on the grass it goes away. Any ideas why this is? Also, there is a squeezing sound from the tail almost when it is at full stop, you think I need to grease the bearings? I have never flown the heli to date

Mille,

Hard for me to answer fully as I have only ever spooled up on grass, but what I would say is that the heli will shake until the blades are fully straight - which centripedal force will do.

Cheers,
Mike.

Mille,

There are a lot of reasons for the shake. My 550 had the same shake and I had to re-balance the main blades and tail blades. Also check the tension of your belt. It sounds like you may have too tight which results in uneven tension and the sound you hear from the bearings. This can also cause the shakes. Make sure your tail blades and belt are undamaged and the pulleys front and tail are true. Hope this helps.

It is call "Ground Resonance". You can try fine tuning the pitch and throttle but if you take off and land on grass, the effect is less visible.

Puffs...goes the Lipo.
