I crashed my friends Shogun and I would like to fix it. I can not figure out how to get out the main gear. Can someone explain how to remove it???

It is a bit complicated, I would download the manual from one of the many heli websites here on the net. Basically, it's a series of collars with an allen key in each, then you remove the pitch control wire which runs up through the centre of the mainshaft, then push out the 'lug' at the top of the mast and draw out the mainshaft. The main gear will be free at this point and you can remove it. Reassembly is the reverse but u need to make sure the pitch control wire is in the same position as before you took it out. Get the manual, makes alot more sense

The thing that tripped me up the first time is that the sleeve under the main gear has 2 securing screws. You need to undo them both before you can get the shaft out.
