Hi, like you can see in the photo, i've put servo horn like a push & pull on my miniservo, one control rod on high speed needle valve and one on medium speed needle valve, i've set mechanically that 3 clicks of HS valve it corresponds 1 click of MS valve, i think in this way the motor can change temperature more quickly....
cheers

how do you find this works compared to normal carb control on the high needle?

i can't see much benefit in doing this altough could be way wrong on that one.

cheers

it looks like you are controling the needles with one servo
while you are opening one needle the other one closes
if this is right its not carb smart its carb stupid these needles
need to be adjusted indepently of each other for the right set up

thanks jeff

Bald if you look well in the photo when the servo moves, open the medium valve and open the max valve, close the medium valve and close the max valve, but it's set mechanicaly that the system open 3 cliks of max valve and open only 1 click of medium valve, every 3 cliks of max valve correspond 1 clik of medium valve. You undestand now?

Look a little more carefully next time before you get all carb ignorant.

there are so many things that you would have to adjust your needles for like
fuel
blades
glowplugs
and not to mention temp and humidity witch is never the same every day

thanks jeff

I'm digging this one up because I'm thinking of giving the Carb Smart a go. Could someone or MAXX please post some pictures of your set-up on your N9? Maybe how it's mounted. Just looking for some options and opinions for whats best. As well as a good servo for the job.
Hope I'm not asking too much, but these are un-charted waters for me, and the people that use them say nothing but good things about them. Thanks, Mike

Maxx is right ,the carbsmart works better on both needles at the 3-1 ratio. Because if you only have it on the main needle it doesn't affect mid range as on the ys the main needle has no bearing on the mid range needle. The ys seems to be more sensitive on the mid needle
hence the 3-1 ratio.Ive flown this for a while now and it makes the engine smoother and with less tendency for the heli to bog.In my opinion a worthwhile upgrade.

Very cool Maxxx.

Would you be able to provide some specifics? I'm looking for linkage lengths and the ball distance on the servo arms. Where did you get the arm on the mid needle?

Hi GScott,
same distance for the ball of needles arm.
In the servo arm 3° hole for the ball of max needle linkage and 1° hole for the ball of mid needle linkage. For the lenghs of linkage, set the servo on center position and you make an angle of 90° for the max needle linkage and servo horn(3° hole) & max needle horn, for the mid linkage set most possible near 90° like other link..
That's all...
