I just purchased a Just Go Flying DF 400 Outrunner Motor for my Shogun from Heli Hobby. Its a beautiful little motor and The way they had it advertised it would fly a Shogun. Im reading now that the DH series is what is used in both the Shogun and the T-Rex. I have a Castle 35 and a 3 cell 2100 Lipo. Any information would be appreciated ...also the shaft on this Df is not a 2.3mm..its much wider I use about a 3mm Shogun pinon gear with loctite on it. If I have to I'll jsut order the DH 400 just thought I would check with you guys first.

the DF turns at a much lower rpm per volt. Compare the specs at Just Go Fly website. You would have to use a larger pinion on the DF to get a good headspeed. I use the DH, very good motor for the shogun.

Thanks Hueyman...good advice when I bought this from Heli Hobby I diddnt look at any chart they said it was good for the Shogun. It is a fine little motor but the heli is not developing the head speed and gets that wobble as I throttle back. I'll just go ahead and order the 400 DH, I don't think I need the 450 ? thanks for all your help, I can see with the right motor it will fly real smooth.

The windings or a DF and a DH are the same. The only difference is the DF has twice as many magnets so it produces more torque and less rpms. You may be able to order a DH bell only and put in on your motor. Ask Vinnie at JGF for more info.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly better than I can pilot them
