Graeme R H Senior Heliman Location: Berkshire UK
| While looking for a new site for my club I have discovered a site which would be suitable for use as a heli club field. It is located near Bisley in Surrey.
I already have agreement for 7 day a week use with the owner. It isn't suitable for fixed wing use as a general club site because of the restrictions. However it would make a good site for helicopters. Three of us flew there as a test run. We flew a T-Rex 600, T-Rex 450 and a small foam fixed wing model which was really the limit for fixed wing.
I don't want to get involved in another club as I am the chairman of my existing club. However I am willing to help set up a new club with new members. I have offered the site to another Heli club not very far away but they have not responded.
Ideally the members would not already be members of local clubs. I want to give local flyers without a club a chance to join a club with no waiting list.
I would think the membership would be limited to around 30 members. Fees would have to be sorted out based on running expenses and rent for the site. Rent of the site has been discussed but not agreed. I should think BMFA affiliation is mandatory as this would provide the required insurance.
Anybody interested in this new venture should contact by PM with your level of interest. I.E. member only or willing to get involved in setting up and running the club.
Please make sure you include your contact details in your e-mail. Evening phone number and address please.
If enough people are interested this might be up and running quite soon.
Why fly the rest when you can fly the best. What are the best these days anyway ? |
