I just got done installing a co-pilot system on my raptor 30, I took it outside and did the calibration test as instructed in the manual, and was really impressed when i picked the heli up, tipped the nose forward, and watched in amazement as the swashplate tipped backward in relation to the movement of the heli, this also does the same thing in the roll axis, tip it to the left, the swashplate moves to the right!! The weather here in Michigan is too cold and windy right now to test fly it, but i will post my results when i do.I cant wait!. Joe

is it any different than what a gyro does for the tail ? i my tandom rotor seaknight you need two gyros one for the back rotor and one for elevator on the CG .. I could add one for aileron as well .. so how does co-pilot work ?

If you are familiar with the Futaba PA-1 and PA-2, the principal is pretty much the same. It uses photocells to detect variations in the amount of light going into the sensors and gives a command to counter the movement in an effort to equalive the light coming into both sensors. Makes me wonder what happens when you get close to a tree line with the aircraft. Would the Co-pilot, or PA-1/2, steer the craft away from the trees?

The co pilot does not you light like the futabe PA, it use the heat differnece between the atmoshpere and the ground. I have one installed on my nexus but have not had the chance to fly it yet.
