I wear my cycling shades cos for glare and wind protection - yes they are quoted as bullet proof - which Is handy against stones flying up while I descend ben nevis.but i doubt they would stop a supersonic bullet from wasting my head (even if they stayed intact you would have a lexan encased bullet go thro yer eye instead of just a bullet)

Happy Flying

Hey, I got a great idea..... How about useing Lacrosse gear LMAO.
You know the rib pads, chest pads, and the helmet an stuff, you would be really safe than. LOL
You could get hit and say, "Hey I'm alive and I'm Invincible!" LOL, man that's funny but I wonder if it would keep you safe, especcially from carbon blades.
Do you think just the helmet could keep you safe from like carbon blades or plastic?

Ja1010, thanks for the remark. But at least I have some padding lol. But I think I would wear like some strong glasses for protection from the bird spitting out like dirt and stuff.

Yeah, you never know when it might get some heavy wind and hit some dirt or stuff. I just want to be safe to but you can try wearin them to.

It generally goes like this, what ever on your body you want to keep protect it. Most likely means your eyes and hands I guess.

I remember as a kid learning how to fly, my dad and I were running up an eaglet 50, and the prop kicked up a very small pebble and it flew right into my eye.. Hurt like heck, and here it is 20 years later and I still have a dark purple spot on my eye from it... Definatley wear protection!!!!

You can do what you want but atleast wear a hat and some clear safety glasses.

This is no toy, look professional. Like a road construction guy lol.

Cover what you want to keep.

lol from my mom
"Brush the teeth you want to keep."

Editied: That was something dumb I said a while ago. I am 15 now.

Well, POLAROID corporation invented the first polarizing filters (back in the 60')they are very usefull in photography and many others applications.

The light is like a wave, and the polarizing filter only let go trought the top or the bottom of the wave (depend the orientation od the filter), if you use two polarizing filters you can go to a total darkness.

Thats all good to.

If I was wearing a hat though I wouldn't need sun glasses but I would probably wear like clear safety glasses.

Last year I was doing some setup on my X-cell SE in my backyard when the receiver went into failsafe and it crashed before the blades could spin down. I was 20 feet away and my wife came running out after she heard all of the parts hitting our house. We found the tail case 200 yards behind me in the neigbor's yard!

Since then I don't even start a helicopter unless I am wearing some type of eye protection- safety glasses in low light conditions and different nonprescription sunglasses the rest of the time. They don't have to be able to stop a bullet, but even cheap sunglasses offer some protection against flying debris!

As for the reason why the receiver went into failsafe I've adopted another safety practice- always check battery voltage before every flight!!!

At Mulberry I was spotting and a raptor 90 went in about 20' away onto the runway. We were "showered with bits and pieces of blade's, tailboom and fins I think the sunglasses are a must.
