The Strut Guards seen on my Sceadu at the Las Vegas fun fly are available. However only in black. E-mail me if you would like a set. They let me do sliding autos all day long with almost no wear on the guards and no wear on the struts at all. I use to have problems with wearing the bottom of my struts off like many of you also have, but now it looks as if that problem has been solved.

What are they made out of? I tried delrin a while back but they still wear down fast on blacktop. I don't use anything on my Freya. I drill a hole into the side of each skid holder, through the skid, and insert a bolt with locknut. I just let the plastic wear down on the bottom. The Aluminum skid pipe will eventually need to be replaced.

I'm not sure what they are made of, but so far they sure are holding up great. these can be bolted on or best zipped tied on.

Lawn Darts!!!!!

Howdy!!!
Boy, I do feel old!!! I remeber playing with lawn darts as a kid. I also remeber nearly getting killed when my friends and I used to throw them around (and straight up in the air !!!!) very wrecklessly.. I heard some kid got killed several years back and the parents sued the company and that since then no one has made them. I have'nt seen them for sale for at LEAST 20 years.

Lawn Darts

You can still get them. I only use relatively safe lawn darts made by Hirobo, Thunder Tiger, and hopefully others and follow AMA rules.

I saw the skid protectors in the photo. Thats not what I was thinking of. I'd think it would be hard to wear those down. How much are they?

Skid guards cost $7.00 dollars each plus shipping. So, they can be bought separatly in case one is installed incorrectly. aheadhelicopter@msn.com
It's one size fits allThey are made to length. I buddy of mine works for a company that carries them. As far as it seems they are not generally available that I have been told. However I can get as many as needed.

Lawn darts are a bit like throwing darts in looks but are a lot larger and a lot of weight on the end. I think they had a sharp point on the end at one time? Anyway, that was back in the good old days when a toy could kill a kid. Our government has gotten in the way of Darwin and banned lawn darts. Now the term lawn dart is given to just about anything that hits the ground. If you "lawn dart" your helicopter, that means you crashed it. So my signature was supposed to be funny. It means that I "lawn darted" with such gusto that I was recognized as champion of the Greater Antilles. Which is not very hard to do if you think about it because I don't know any RC helicopter pilots in the Greater Antilles. Nor the Lesser Antilles for that matter. So its supposed to be a joke, just maybe not a funny one?

I turned off my signature because I am tired of looking at it

BANNED!!!

Howdy!!!!
BANNED!!! I knew they were dangerous to give to kids, but BANNED??? Well, the Gov. can't protect me from terrorism, but at least they are stopping a possibly deadly attack from lawn dart wielding ner-do-wells!! It's scary to think that model aircraft ( of any type) could potentially wind up on the CPSC list. It's a longshot, but it upsets me to think about it. I still have some lawndarts out in my shop.. I better melt 'em down before the guys in body armor and jack boots come breaking down my door to confiscate them......... Thank God someone else is thinking for me.. I would be at a loss without THEIR supervision!!!!!!
