what is the BEC?

What is the BEC you are talking about on a TB9? I am guessing the middle pin on the rx connector?

BEC

Yes. The middle wire on the connector. Battery equiv. circuit or something like that. You only need one plugged into your reciever. The manual picture is showing the BEC removed for a BL main and the 3in1 supplies power to RX.

page 54. Shows the picture of the middle wire removed. I use My TB18 to power my RX and servos. TB9 BEC is disco'd.

Dear God, please let it set down just as it took off. Amen.

Battery Eliminating Circuitry - Eliminates the need for a second battery pack to power the radio gear by routing power from a single battery pack to power both drive train and radio gear

Radio gear only needs/likes power from one source/direction so we disconnect the BEC of one ESC when using two ESCs

Black wire = Neg
Red wire = Pos
Yellow wire = Signal

Huh? SO disconnecting the middle RX wire, this BEC helps the thunderbird 9 operate better? I might try it. I have the G90 right now and it seems that I have to continually add left trim or at least a little left rudder. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ah, I see now. With the BEC connected on both ESCs then there is technically two sources of power going to the receiver. I think am changing my signature.

G90

Irush, I have the G90 also. I have given up trimming the drift. I just fly and have fun. It holds good enough on the punches to leave it on. As you know it is not a precise instrument.

Dear God, please let it set down just as it took off. Amen.

You 're right Splatcat. It really doesn't bother me that much at this point. It holds good enough to actually fly around instead of constantly trying to keep the tail under control like with the stock tail. It does hold no matter what I do with the throttle, it just likes to lazily yaw to the right a little.

Anyone have a good source for an 8T Pinion for 2mm shaft?

Why don't you just get an E-Flite one? Your LHS probably has them...

What main blades are you all running with the brush-less setup? I'm assuming wood blades would not be good, since the RPM's will be higher.

I use the stock wood blades - and I also have the paper clip mod (replace the "Jesus" Retaining Pin [EFLH1135] with part of a small paper clip).

Never had any failures in flight, and the stock wood blades and paper clip significantly reduce other part damage during a crash.

Replace the "Jesus" Retaining Pin [EFLH1135] with part of a small paper clip.

In a crash, it shears off (something the stock retaining pin will not do) and saves most other parts...

Just put a piece of a small paper clip through, and bend both ends over a little...

I am using a 401 gyro with my feigao brushless tail and thunderbird 9 esc. If you put your gyro in digital mode the tail works way better fast reverse flight tic tocs anything I throw at it it just stays locked on honestly the tail holds just as good as my brothers 450 and my 600 with the exeption that when you bog a trex your tail kicks out and when you bog a cp since the tail is seperate motor it still holds.

Size and specs are certainly the ame, and the price is really good. Should be an exact drop-in for the Feigao...

Anyone have first-hand experience?

Would a GWS 3x3 prop be OK? I know the 3X2 is reccomended but you were thinking of going larger? Also....United is out of the 3x2.

I am going with United hobbies....I will order everything at once.

My current preference is a 4530 prop, second choice is a 4030...
although both a 3020 and 3030 will work.

Your gyro may have an impact on prop choice.
